Dont quite think the race in Japan is up Mount Fuji Might be a bit tricky! Will be good to see a new track even at the expense of Suzuka.

German race has got to be Hockenheim. Now one of the best tracks in F1( behind Spa of course!)

Another talking point. Turkey might (and I say might) be removed from the calendar after political controversy at the recent Turkish GP. Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali, who presented the winners trophy to Felipe Massa on the podium, was introduced as the president of the Turkish Cypriot state. Now it all sounds complex and it is, so here are a couple of insight articles from GrandPrix.com which explain: http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns17371.htmlhttp://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns17371.html
      http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns17372.htmlhttp://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns17372.html

Also an interesting WRC talking point on the Stobart VK Ford which I read in last weeks Motorsport News, the team is looking for an established driver to partner Matthew Wilson through the season finale, Wales Rally GB, instead of relying on 1 of their 4 No.2 drivers. Heres a quick summary of the teams No.2s and the events theyve done with the team so far plus future 2006 rounds.

      Pieter Tsjoen (Monte Carlo)
Luis Perez Companc (Sweden, Mexico, Argentina, Italy. To do: Japan, Cyprus, Turkey, Australia & New Zealand)
Kosti Katajamaki (Sweden, Italy, Greece, Finland. To do: Turkey)
Jari Matti Latvala (Spain, France, Germany. To do: Unknown)

Now just to add my thoughts on this, either Stobart Ford could bring back Colin McRae (just to clear up anyone who wouldve jumped to the wrong conclusions, im not suggesting that he is involved, ITS JUST MY OWN THOUGHTS OK) Mark Higgins (he won the 2005 British Rally Championship with the team) or use Jari Matti Latvala because he has British rallying experience having competed in the 2003 British Rally Championship. What are your thoughts on these topics?

So much news today. The biggest of which is that Michael Schumacher IS GOING TO RETIRE at the end of this year. Michael has had a good career (even with the odd controversial moment), 7 world titles, 90 race wins and 66+ poles. I admit Ive seldom been a Schuey fan but even I was reduced to tears when the announcement came through. Ferrari confirmed Felipe Massa & Kimi Raikkonen as their driver line-up for 2007.

Also Lewis Hamilton sewn up the GP2 title after a stewards inquiry saw Giorgio Pantanos Saturday fastest lap annulled owing to the Italian setting that lap under a yellow flag.

Dutch car manufacturer Spyker confirmed this morning they had bought the Midland F1 team. Spyker also confirmed that ex-Toyota technical director Mike Gasgoyne will join the team. But of course this announcement was overshadowed heavily by the news of Schumachers future.

          Enough news, F1 & GP2 results.

          F1 Monza
          Top 8 Finishers
1: M.Schumacher (Win no.90 for Schuey, Im sad that he has only 3 races to go)
2: Raikkonen (Schueys successor delivers McLaren another podium as he prepares to jump ship at seasons end for Ferrari)
3: Kubica (1st proper points and a 1st podium for the Polish driver, he definately is Rookie of the Year)
4: Fisichella (Quiet 1 stopper leap-frogs the Italian)
          5: Button (Another consistent drive)
6: Barrichello (Followed Fisis lead and did a 1 stopper)
7: Trulli (Quiet race, unseen a bit but threatened in closing stages by Heidfeld)
8: Heidfeld (Poor start added to drive-through for speeding in pit-lane sees a point gained)

          Retirements
          18: Monteiro (Unknown)
19: Alonso (Blown engine, I think now he could be doing a Villeneuve and going on a gradual decline)
20: de la Rosa (Lost power)
          21: Yamamoto (Unknown)
          22: Rosberg (Lost drive)

          F1 Drivers Championship (Round 15/1

Hi all. Well I would deliver the results from round 12 of the World Rally Championship, the Cyprus Rally but Im in absolute confusion over the results.

Firstly Stage 20, the Down Town Super Special, the FIA Safety Delegate deemed that the drivers shouldnt run at competition speeds after massive crowds gathered to watch the Limassol-based stage.

Secondly Dani Sordo crashed into the 1st turn of the super-special (the stage was broadcast LIVE on Eurosport) and reports suggest the Safety Delegate told his co-driver Marc Marti that the stage times wouldnt count so what in the hell was Sordo doing? He was in a manufacturers points position, why throw it away?

Furthermore nominal times were run on Stage 21 owing to the hugh gaps between each driver bar the leading 2 drivers, rally leader Sebastien Loeb & Marcus Gronholm who were 20+ seconds apart.

So the results will be posted within the next week while I get my head around it. If you want to work out the results for yourself, go to http://www.wrc.comwww.wrc.com

I have long got my head round the Rally Cyprus results and will post them along with the F1 results from Shanghai when I get a oppotunity as Im at college at the time of typing.

Some bad news and good news from the WRC. The bad news, well, Sebastien Loeb has broken his arm in a mountain biking accident and will miss the Rally of Turkey on October 13-15. But good news on Sebs replacement, 1995 world rally champion COLIN MCRAE!! The Scotsman will sub for the Frenchman for Turkey but also might get a chance to compete in Australia pending on what condition Sebs arm is in.

Also Im looking for drawings for a college project (slightly irrelivant to this thread, I know). Basically Im going to design a unsprung chopper buffer coupling used on Welsh narrow gauge railways (again, I know its irrelivant on this thread). If theres anyone who could help me find some drawings, I would be very grateful.
