  • Battlestar Galactica

Seen Feature length movie and episodes 1 and 2 now. Anyone got any thoughts on the new series. There should be 13 - 14 episodes in season 1.

The feature length introduction on Sky was vey good as was episode 1.

Episode 2 was a bit slow but very intreaging however.

Still got me hooked though and looking forward to next installment.

We dont have a TV so I cant watch it, and the cable provider didnt have Sky anyway. I will have to wait for DVDs to come out.

Glen, Have I missed something? I thought that the first episode was a bit slow and kept repeating itself, and it did not continue from the film as Id expect it to. When I first saw this I thought Id missed an episode. Then the second (not much action) was alot better and started to reveal the overall plot alot more.

Have I got these mixed up? Is the second one the one with the bit of water?

Mark. You havent missed anything. I thought the first episode was good even though it did seem to repeat its self a bit. Yes the second one was the one where BSG lost 70% of its water.

Will be interesting to see how Helo gets back to BSG from Caprica.

That makes two of us then.

The trailer all last week made it look like they finally found out what Hoshi is, i was glad they didnt, it will make the next few even better.

The tension is certainly building. Roll on next Monday.

                      Battlestar Galactica

Season 1 has now finally finished and i must say that it was excellent.

The finale was totally unexpected (Not spoiling anything) and made for a great cliffhanger.

Just can wait for the new season!

Season 2 has now finished on Sky and has been excellent. With a nice finish ready for season 3.

Just seen on various websites the following:

The Sci Fi Channel will delve into the backstory of Battlestar Galactica with a new series that looks at the years leading up to humanitys devastation by the Cylons.
Caprica will be set more than 50 years prior to the events of Battlestar Galactica and focus on the lives of two families -- the Adamas (ancestors of future Galactica commander William) and the Graystones. Humankinds Twelve Colonies are at peace and on the verge of a technological breakthrough: the first Cylon.
As Battlestar Galactica is about a lot more than space battles, Caprica will be as much family drama as sci-fi tale.

Its an interesting premise as during the time period in question the Cylons achieve self awareness and fight the first war, which we€™ve been told was long and incredibly brutal.

Should be interesting if this does happen.

The original series is on Bravo Tuesday 18.00. Think next week is the 4th Episode. Still better than the new one.

The original series was really good. I watched it as a kid and many of the episodes again on bravo. The new battlestar i think is different to the original but also really good. However i found myself getting bored with it about halfway through series 3. It kinda got a bit lost.
