    Re: Near Chaos Robotics

Thanks. It seemed like the lightest way to get something that would work, and it should be able to be glued back on should/when they get broken off.

After Motorama, Algos was in need of a rebuild.

        The main changes are:
        Narrower chassis
        Heavier weapon
        Pseudo-hubmotor for the weapon

        Here's the weapon test video:

Clash of the Bots 4 was yesterday in Gastonia, North Carolina. I took both US ants to the event. Algos went 4-0, winning the class and Klazo placed 4th with a 2-2 record.

I have friends in Gastonia, I believe there was an event held in the Museum there soon before I last went.

            Edit:

            The Schiele Musuem!

Do they still have the monkeys and the 'shoe-horned' excuses to have them as an exhibit at the place?

They had a mammal exhibit going on, so there were plenty of them there. Only way from the front door to the bot area with no stairs took me right past a bunch early in the morning. They seemed a bit curious about what I was pulling behind me.

Clash of the Bots is a yearly event at Schiele and I don't see it stopping any time soon. it's been a pretty big hit from what I can tell.

Next time I'm over I'll have to make sure it's the same weekend as this event, a BW will fit nicely in hand luggage.

Dragon Con Robot Battles is next weekend, and after some more tweaking on a few of the robots and a few new builds/rebuilds, the fleet is ready.

Nyx and Apollyon have been essentially untouched since their post Motorama repairs and upgrades. Gelos (the one with the massive wheels) is a new build from almost entirely scrap parts. Algos has had its wedge freshly sharpened after going undefeated at Clash of the Bots. Klazo has a new, larger, faster drum and some new side rails and wedgelets to match. Reptar is a full rebuild of last years 1lb Dragon Con Robot Micro Battles champion.

Video from Dragon Con Robot Battles is actively uploading to http://www.youtube.com/user/mikencr

There are 93 videos total and as of posting this 17 have uploaded so they should trickle in all night.

As a side note, I won the 1, 12 and 30lb class this year.

You seem to be turning into the Sebastian Vettel of the combat robot world! That's an impressive record. Thanks for going through the trouble of filming and uploading these.

Right, there goes my day, starting at video 1.

I've been working on a new featherweight for my fiance to drive at events. Here's a progress picture-

Planned attachments are an axe, a hammer, a chainsaw, and a circular saw. Drive is a pair of 18v Dewalts geared for ~10mph and the center of gravity is within an inch of the wheel axles with the hammer attachment, so it should be able to swing fairly well.
