Does anyone know how much the Epilog Mini 18 and the Epilog Mini 24 are to buy?

I am looking into the logistics and costs of running an ebay/deviantART based business. I would use the laser cutter as the primary tool to produce high quality custom products but I cant find a cost for any laser system.

I know there are many other things top consider but without knowing the cost of the cutting its pretty pointless.

PS: I am not sure this really belongs here but i didn't know where else to put it.

First result to a google search:

Q: How much do the laser systems cost?
The Epilog Zing 16 Laser - 30 watt starts at $7,995 (US Price Only), a small investment for such a powerful piece of machinery. You can even lease to own the laser with payments of about $150 a month (with approved credit). It doesn't take a lot of engraving to cover $150 lease payments.

The cost of the laser systems are determined by speed (stepper vs. servo motors), engraving table size, and laser wattage (ranging from 30 to 120 watts) and range from $7,995 to $45,000. If you'd like help determining which laser is right for your application and to receive pricing information, call us at 888-437-4564 or fill out our request form.

Could build a cnc machine for a fraction of that price if you have the skills and a small mill to machine the parts for it

But you would struggle to match the extreme precision of these machines

          Re: Epilog Legend Laser Cutter

I have looked at CNC's before and they just don't offer the kind of precision or edge quality that I am looking for. With a laser everything I design is also flat pack so it saves on postage; kind of.

And I need to change google back to my default engine... bing is rubbish!

Garbage. You can happily design a machine that will give the same if not better precision than something professionally made.

              Re: Epilog Legend Laser Cutter

I don't have time to 'happily design' a CNC. Two people I know have tried and both ended up buying one instead... it was just vastly easier, far less time consuming and less stressful.

If you can find me the link to a great, reliable, cheap, accurate DIY CNC/laser cutter then I will consider it.

BOOM! Built one myself a few years back. Total cost was around £1500.

You say that it would cost a lot of time and energy to build one yourself. Sure but how long would it take you to save up 4k?
