  • Info on servo reversers

A few of the robots in days gone by had switches that would reverse the controls when turned upside down, controlled by a switch on the reciever.

Been googling it but I think the problem I am having is knowing what question to ask.....

And, no Jonno, I don't want to turn the transmitter upside down, though it may come to that.

some speedos have it built in, so you just have a 3rd channel. What transmitter are you using, as it might be easy to hack that.

Not sure if there's a specific switch or device for it (I'm used to Scorpion XL's now, that have it built-in) but one idea could be to just wire a little toggle switch across the appropriate servo reversing channel and fit the switch to the shoulder of your transmitter. Then flick it when you're upside down and forward/reverse should be switched. (left/right doesn't need altered if I remember correctly)

Using a Spektrum DX6, cannot fit toggles to the reversers like you could on the 40mhz systems.

Will drag the manual out and see if there is a way of pre-programming the TX.

Using electronizes and v-tail mixer atm because that was what I had in the shed.

trev try this here for a circuit solution http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/RL-IMX1.html

Was it not possible on the old futaba sets to setup a dual rates switch with certain channels forward which then changed them to backwards at the flick of a switch? I may be misremembering and don't have a set handy to play with.

Could you fit a toggle switch that reverses the polarity on the pot' in the transmitter (so it swaps the two ends over)?

Gary - perfect, but not much time to buy one now - can only find one in the states - and have it fitted before Saturday. The DX6 has a dual rate function but not sure whether it will accept reverse - will have a play when I have it wired up fully, thanks.

Alan - like your thinking, will give it serious thought if I cannot programme the DX6

              Cheers
