Does anyone know where I can get sets of brushes for the bosch 750W 24v motors? Seems one of them in Hydra is sticking whis is probably why it wasn't working very well at Burgess Hill.

    Andy,
I have had exactly the same thing happen with one of the bosch 750s on tiberius.
Don't know if you have any of the bosch 400 motors? there were loads selling a while back for only a fiver each. The whole brush assy on them is the same as the 750. I just swapped it for a new one from a 400 i had doing nothing.

Doesn't seem to be just the brushes unfortunately. Replaced those with a 'spare' set out of SMIDSY but didn't seem to cure it. Have swapped the rotor to the casings in SMIDSY and tried it today. Stuck a bit at first but seems ok now after a bit of bedding in (five consecutive activations without any stalls). Need to see tomorrow and try it with the wheels on the ground as well. May end up being tested at Cardiff at the weekend.

There was a serious problem with the bearing on the drive side of the motor, seemed to have come apart and obviously getting very hot as it was welded to the shaft so I think it's a whole heap of problems in there. As these have been in since the robot wars series it may just be wear and tear but It'll probably mean a new motor in the not too distant future. May also be a few wheel bearings need replacing as the resistance on the right hand side seems higher than on the left .
