  • Bosch 35W wheel setups

    Hi guys,

I bought a couple of Bosch 35W motors a while back but havent got round to using them until now. I dont have the parts or facilities to make a square shaft to fit the output on the gearbox and have a wheel attached so I was just wondering if anyone had any wheel/square shaft setups kicking about that they wouldnt mind parting company with?

Ideally looking for 75mm-100mm wheels on them.

Drop me an email if you can be of help (the lenny_1024 one on my profile)

    Thanks,
    Jamie

grange square did the ones in 360- place were Ed wallace works.. did a good job,

there grade 5 titanium 4mm square shafts that step up to 8mm round to have a pulley pushed onto them- then they go through an 8mm bearing, then step up to a shoulder, then back down to 12 with a keyway slot going into the wyachi wheels, and an m5 thread in the end to keep the wheel onto the keyway.. if hes still got the programe for it he might make another set up for you.

either way- id definatly make them so you can support the wheel by a bearing on one side or another

Yeah having had a look around at other machines using them Ive seen a lot of recommendations saying to support the wheel with a bearing on at least one side. Im planning on using them in a 6kg bot so hopefully a simple bearing will suffice.

Ive just had a few parts delivered for the new drum setup in Drumroll and impluse bought a computer on eBay which took a bit more out my bank than I budgeted for so these wheel setups may take a back seat for the next few weeks but thanks for the info Dave and Gary. Ill bear it in mind when I get back round to using the Bosches

Jamie easy set up i use is a 10mm socket head bolt say 20mm longer than the width of the wheel wiht a nut and then drill a 6.5mm in the thread end this will then accept a peice off 4mm square keyway this is then spot welded in place. they then fit snug into the motor and the socket head will then accept a 6mm bolt to act as a support for the shaft .... quick simple and cheap ....
If your stuck and have the wheel size ie bore i can knock you a set up at cost +post and if you have any varients on the set up .... ie a longer 10mm bolt threaded all the way so it will fit through a 10mm bearing and have two nuts to lock the wheel on ... no probs .. up to you ..

          Pete....
