Sorry for lack of info as I only found this thread today. The midland fighting league beer meets are nearest saturday to the 15th of every month. The june meet last night was therefore the 12th. The july meet will be on the 17th and so on. They dont get moved as thats just confusing. We have had to change pubs from catch corner to the spread eagle which is on the cross roads between the A5 and the A449. Start time is 8:00pm and its a busy pub so we usually stand around the bar waiting for a table. Finish time usually comes when robots and RC cars have gone flat after closing. The MFL web site is http://teamidris.tripod.com/robotshttp://teamidris.tripod.com/robots and my address is s.m.knight@btinternet.com . Please E mail me if you want any information. This meet is also the FRA regional meet.

The mfl has been running for four and a half years with 54 beer meets. Numbers have been dropping steadily though as other robot events get going, which is as expected, as at the beginning there was only the yearly RW event. The MFL had also become the FRA midlands meet but even this does not seem to have made the endeavour worth while. As such I am dissolving the MFL back into the ether. We have had loads of fun with it over the years and proved the internet is a great way of getting together and running a club with no fixed member base for nothing. Thank you to all of you who have made it possible since January 2000.

It will be sadly missed by all, I think for the first couple of years I never missed more than one or two meetings I used to drive up the 200 miles from my house in Essex just for the evening. I am proud to have been part of it, especially some of the more outrageous memories, such as the Suicidal boys turning up in an armoured car, Charles bunny hopping my Go-ped straight into a rosebed, where it promptly sunk up to the frame in the soft ground, sending him into a full double somersault, Stephens missus riding the same Go-ped but not being able to stop, Charles (again) riding the Go-ped off up the road (in the dark, they dont have lights) and meeting the police car coming the other way, the jet engine we ran in the entrance to the bar (seriously loud) and the push bike that we got to turn up, complete with, yes, a jet engine again. Almost left out cutting the birthday cake with Vercingetorixs axe!

Plus the great fun we had with the robots, full combat, Killerhurtz, Mortis, Suicidal Tendencies etc, Ian from Vercingetorix coming up from the Isle of Wight (think that was the longest journey of any regular) Blimey, we even filmed a trailer for Battlebots there, they let us drive the robots in the bar for that one, saftey? whats that?

Thanks a lot Stephen, it was all down to you.

All the best for the future mate,

              Arthur & Kim Chilcott
