  • Burst disc required on disposable miniature CO2 cylinders?

    Hi,

I've been reading through the rules and it mentions that a burst disc is required on cylinders above 50psi. How does this work for tiny bottles, the sort that are used in paintball handguns and bicycle tire inflators?

    Example:

Are these disallowed in the rules even if there is a pressure relief valve?

In theory you'e correct. This problem never materialised in the past.

But with the beetle class , the sparklets are an option to power a pneumatic weapon.

You'll need a shut off valve in the robot tough. Otherwise the robot is armed the moment the sparklet is seated and punctured. Not the safest situation in the pits if you ask me.

Indeed, thanks maybe I'll be able to get some more clarification, or maybe it's an event organizer decision whether to allow them without a burst disc. I did see a little regulator that attaches to the 88g ones used in aquariums that could just be turned fully down and act as a off valve maybe .
