Thanks guys, good weekend. Managed to squeeze in five bouts with the feather, though the last few may have been wedged up on the arena floor (in need of a little TLC? ). Should now get a chance to fix up the machine for farnborough, so see you there anyone thats going!
No Probs Ed, took off earlier than Saturday yesterday so as to miss the traffic and get some well needed sleep! Going to Farnborough by any chance?
Will hopefully stick some pictures up this week once Ive regained all my senses...
Great event, for me a great test of my bots were ready for the UK champs and as it turns out they are not.
One motor in Hannibal is completely fried (not the gearbox which was my first guess, that part is still fine)which in turn blew one side of my Sidewinder. I have a spare for both items so making it to the championships is no problem.
Once that is done I can start concentrating on Hannibalito to stop doing Mute imitations.
HOT!! on the sunday, saw a couple of fights.
Flipper shooting feathers into the roof netting!!
Was that due to the heat and more gas presure or is that normal?
Good air displays as well.
It was due to we fixed the flipper at last,
but then near the end of the day, one of the fire burkets is sticking so only 2 of the 3 is activating, so were back to square one  - but it will be sorted for the UK Champs
well another scorching weekend at raf fairford.
Lots battles, in the main arena and the pay to drive arena.
Did everyone see her.... Carroll Vorderman and her family?????? what€™s 2 + 2 again !!!????
Well done to the roboteers who kept their machines running in such hot conditions.
Getting into the show this year appeared to work better without any major hiccups, and the campsite after my complaints last year gave us enough space.
Thanks to Andy and Tom who sweated blood on Friday helping build the arena, and those who stayed behind and decided not to brave the traffic and gave us a hand clearing away.
Looking forward to it again next year if they have us back. Role on the UK champs.
