BotFest 3 (14th September 2019)

With just over 5 weeks until BotFest 3, a new arena floor has arrived and yes, it is a 810x810mm single piece of plywood which I'll get painted and detailed at some point next week. Next thing on the list is to see about sorting the roof which whilst it "works", I'd like it to be more to size than it is now.

Unexpectedly, I can make it!

Sprouting Potato V4 is signed up, with smaller wheels and a flipper. Hope I get to use the flipper before speeding into the pit.

I'm gonna enter something else, but I'm not sure what - I need to build it first.

Arena is being test fitted tonight to make sure everything fits before I deal with the roof. With any luck, if it all fits tonight, I'll paint and detail the arena floor over the weekend.

Many thanks to everyone who came to BotFest 3! It is always great to see new and returning faces come to this tiny little event. We had 25 robots enter this time and a whole host of excellent fights. The grand final, particularly, was spectacular. Many thanks to 5upercrab for the pit floor donation. We'll have the video of the event up soon.

For 2020, I am looking to have BotFest 4 at the end of March though not committing to anything concrete just yet, I am planning on making some changes to the event. Keep an eye out!

Thanks to you Lucy for running it for all us lot again, once again had a great time and had/saw some wicked fights. Already looking forward to 4!

Feeling fired up to make a new ant now! Happy with Gremlin's performance today (especially after the upgrade courtesy of Paul) but definitely need something meatier than a pusher next time out!

Good to catch up and see you all March-ish!

Thanks for hosting Lucy, had a great time & definitely happy with another podium finish! Will hopefully be at the next one, but will definitely have to make something new since Please Shut Up's chassis probably can't take many more spinner fights.

Another very fun event, well done to everyone some great intense fights as well!

Hopefully by next time I'll have sorted Bombastic's flipper problems to put up more of a fight for people, after a bit of examination I think that the servo was actually smacking the arms into the chassis on the way down and repeatedly bending the linkage as a result until it shattered
