22nd/23rd July 2006 - XFM Farnborough International Air Show

I gave up on Big Brother 7 years ago after the first serie was shown on dutch television (the original series). So on behalf of all the sane dutch people my sincere apologies for exporting this horrorshow to the UK.

Whether you love Big Brother or hate it - everyone seems to have something to say on it

If you fancy a taste of whats coming up at Farnborough International, the UKs most attended and most important airshow take a look here. Not just public tents, go see what BAE Systems are working on, whats Lockheed Martin producing - with $14 billion in orders last year for show exhibitors and the FIRST public appearance of the Airbus A380 Farnboroughs this years going to be an emazing event from start to finish

Should we be expecting to get anything in the post for this show or is it an email affair?

Ive found some show maps here:
          http://www.farnborough.com/media/news/news-article.asp?n=2272http://www.farnborough.com/media/new...cle.asp?n=2272

Though Id expect this to be in the final email, are there any hints as to whereabouts on the showground well be positioned?

Should be another great oppuritunity to collect some more material for one of my GCSE Lens based media (yes, thats what they now call Photography) projects

          Thanks

For heavens sake dont let John clap eyes on that thing..
It may well weigh 180Kg but I still cant see that stopping him challenging the European Space Agency to Stick it in the arena if you think its hard enough!
(Plus I dont fancy a bill for £410M!!)

It has a 2 year trip of at least 36m miles to get there and has to negotiate the martian landscape and everything else it comes across........
Yeah! Its a picnic compared to what it could encounter within 2 secs inside the XFM arena - a black spinny thing racing towards it could be the last thing seen through that webcam it carries

All ready to go with slightly revised machine coming out at a startling 11.7kg

Revisions are replaced front armour and homemade linear actuator for the claw instead of direct rotary drive. Ill record a test video this afternoon but wont get it online till after the weekend.

Ill only be playing in the cadet class with this machine - its a fragile thing

                        See you all there

550 miles and 2 and 1/2 days later....
Really enjoyed that. Rach is so shattered shes still in bed, but I just wanted to thank Ed and the XFM crew and attending roboteers for a really enjoyable weekend.
It will be a while now until we can make it to another, but look forward to our next one whenever that may be.
