I've duly signed up - given I only really do antweights, and the entire beetle project only came about as a result of being asked at 10pm if I wanted any lasercutting done, this may get interesting...

The signup page does state FRA rules are being used, but then states axes, pneumatic robots, and spinners need removable links - does that mean passive robots don't or do the FRA rules prevail?

At present the FRA rules do not state beetle weights need removable links and locking bars for weapons, though i am advised they are due to be updated soon, but may not be for 2015, but ready for the 2016 season.

However Kinematic Events are enforcing that removable links and locking bars are needed for weapons such as axes, pneumatic robots, and spinners. I would prefer all beetle weights to have removable links, but since the FRA rules have not been updated as of yet, we will relax the rule to passive robots. But i have a feeling next year - all beetle weights will need a removable link. You do however still need a cradle and sharp edge protection.

      Many thanks,
      Stu

Do they need to failsafe properly on all channels as will need new radio gear if so.

I gave in and signed up yesterday, although this time no spinners from me, going for something simple/reliable and effective.

Do I need to do anything more to sign up for this? Can't remember how far I got?

Heya. Was hoping to get the CRDB update done last weekend but had problems else where. This weekend we will have it up and running and also lists teams attending so far etc.

Teams that originally signed up need log into the new Combat Robots DataBase:
                                http://kinematicevents.com/roboteersportal.php

to edit/update your robot details (even add new ones if you wish) and then RE SIGN up to the FRA Beetle Weight championships.

This may sound a pain and sorry if you have to do this again - but it just seems to be the easiest option for everyone, since not everyone was sure which robots they are entering etc. No the time has come to make a decision which ones you are entering as the system asks for which robots to use.

This also now gives you the chance to edit and update your robot details - ready before the robot profiles go public very soon for everyone to see. Inside the roboteers portal you can change your robots details and stats. Add more robots to your fleet and sign up the correct ones ready for the beetle weight championships too!

We are excited about the new system and within the next few weeks we will be adding more features, Including voting in the awards for the finals also.

We will be closing applications for the FRA Beetle Weight Championships soon, so let other teams know they don't have long to enter. A list of teams/robots entered into the competition will be online very soon once you guys have re-signed up.

                                Kind Regards,
                                Stu
