Nicely pulled off, everyone! The Pay-to-Drive fighting machines I finished just last night went 100% all day, with only small issues like loose bolts and a stray bit of LED strip. Apparently they were also subject to more serious play this evening for Stu's bday bash, so very pleased. It was great to see dozens of kids and big kids alike enjoying them.

As for the main event, Newton ran okay. I managed to eliminate the cogging issue with a rebuild this morning but after an initial test top rpm and overall power seemed down. A rebuild using the same construction method as the Pay-to-Drives is in order.

Well done to John Denny for once again taking the crown with Limpet! Brilliant driving, never let me spin up properly!

Look forward to the next one.
      Ellis

Hi all. Just a massive thank you for coming along to the first Iron Games. It was great to see the real roboteer spirit alive and kicking in the pits.

The audience loved the fights, including local radio stations and papers. The Hungry Horse managers were floating about and are very impressed to sign us up. The public loved our great looking Pay to Battle Robots designed/built by Ellis/RangleBox.com. The feedback has been overwhelming from the public.

Well done to our winners - videos /media and report will be online next weekend.
Thank you again for participating in some amazing battles!

Here's to the future.. more info coming soon about our next upcoming events, we are just sorting out which "venues" get it first and in what order.

We had 3 HD CCTV cameras in the arena which was running all day, also being filmed by another HHD camera on one side of the arena. Video clips and meda etc will go online next weekend.

Thanks again all for a great day!

          Kind Regards,
          Kinematic Events Team

It was a great day out, well organised and well attended.
Limpet was on top form following a modification to the front face plate and John was driving really well.
We're looking forward to the official videos but for now here is the final if you havn`t seen it yet.

That was a fantastic fight, the whole building was stood in there cheering lol. John's driving was perfection.

@john_frizell - please may you put up some pictures of the insides of your red box robot it was fantastic! I also wanted to ask how you got the wheels on the screwdriver motors?

Dave, I got some cheap 10 cm plastic wheels [Homebase or similar] and drilled them out until they just slipped over the bit holders of the cheap Argos electric screwdrivers I used for gearmotors. Then I drilled through the wheel hub and the bit holder and slipped an M3 bolt through so the wheel would not come off. That was in 2007 and they have been on ever since.

Hi there, very sorry late in the day/week/month.
The videos have been uploaded to the Pubs Facebook page here : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLI...kAT8XsDBW9zq5A
Though the 3 HD Cameras in the arena, the footages is still on the CCTV hard drive sadly, but we have the above footage.

Just about to announce dates/towns/cities to where we are going next. 15 in total, but 4 of them will be open up to roboteers for fun/competition. We will continue to spread the word of these fun beetle weight robots.

Web site overhall due soon as it was mocked up quickly - more sponsorship from HobbyKing.com - more venues/prizes coming soon. Will post on the FRA forum and Facebook page when we know. Keep an eye on the facebook page, it's got more chance of being updated than anything else. : https://www.facebook.com/KinematicEvents

                            Kind Regards,

Oh and Suvv, this Wednesday my partner is visiting the 5 Scotland Sites that we will be touring around in August, to pick the best one to allow Roboteers (if any more up north) to come and take part. But I believe it will be at the Titan. http://www.hungryhorse.co.uk/pubs/titan-clydebank
