  • Just wanted to say a huge Thank You to James, Grant, Nick and the rest of the Robo Challenge gang for an absolute belter of an event! With the champs having been at the Gadget Show for so long now, we all probably take it for granted that we can turn up with our robots and the event will just run, but that simply wouldn't be the case without all your hard work before, during and after the event. Everything always runs so smoothly as well, it was truly worthy of the World Championship title.

Congratulations to Michael and Adrian for taking home the trophy! I think because the robot was still called Explosion, a lot of people knew it had the capability to win, but then you realise that it's still a pretty new machine and this was its first champs event; that's impressive. Well done to Team Learo for taking 2nd and 3rd and to Graeme with Little Nipper for ensuring the top four wasn't a complete flipper fest
Congrats also to Sam and NST for your Annihilator win and to Kane for the Gladiator victory, especially considering your viewpoint was the big screen above the arena! And I suppose I should congratulate Mouldy on the drum-off victory
That trophy though, a work of art.

Finally, massive thanks to all the roboteers. The spirit in the pits was top-notch and really made the event one to remember, there was much hilarity with inflatable bananas, drawings of phallic objects and general, good-natured childishness. I would say that I can't wait to do it all again next year, but I'm crossing my fingers and hoping we get to do it sooner than that. So here's to the next time!

    • What an event!!
Massive thanks to the Robo Challenge team for putting on this epic event.

It was great to bring together so many international teams too, hope to see you guys at the next event.

Well done to Explosion for taking the crown and to John and crew for the remaining podium positions, you guys continue to show that flippers definitely still have what it takes to rule the arena.

Was great to bring NST back out to play and add the annihilator title to this old UK winner.

Shard was only just ready in time for the event and this showed in its performance, but looking forward to giving it another run next time when it has had a few of the refinements it needs.

                      • Another great Montage Jarvis Preferred the music of the last one but that's just me. Given I now have the computing power I will be having a go at a montage myself

                          • After all this time... turns out Endeavour was skied by Galactus, not by DB10! 0:55 to 1:00!

                            • no, DB10 definitely hit us, the massive gauge on scoop where he hit us proves that!:

Galactus also hit us though, which probably then flicked us up on to DB's disk, as see by the drum grazes on the other end of the scoop:

So in reality, we were hit by two spinners at once- hence explaining the the HUGE hit!

                              • Yeah, I heard about the massive mark in your scoop after I wrote that :P

Galactus's side goes up first, then there are the sparks as DB10 engages, a unlucky combination of hits, or lucky depending on your position
