A long extension reel is more beneficial. There may be a free socket on/near your bench but it's not always guaranteed. Everyone also decants off everyone else, so it's best to have your own extension bar too, so that if you need to unplug something, you don't end up unplugging half the pits tables
Regarding arrival, if James or Grant are on the forum tonight I'm sure they'll clarify this, but usually you:
- go to the security gate nearest the hall that you're wanting access to (Hall door 9.1 for us)
- they'll tell you where to go to get a loading pass (usually car park N12(?) up at the top of the complex)
- return to the security gate with your pass, they'll let you through to unload
- once unloaded, take your car to one of the car parks. We usually get car passes that exempt us from the parking fees which, as PJ said, you just leave on your dash and the car park attendants will wave you through.

Massacre's looking good Harry. If you're still having problems with the weapon I'm sure between us all we'll be able to get it up and running. Will be much more fun if we're all spinning in Q1
Are you around tomorrow or just turning up on Saturday?

Thank you Jamie, if it ends up not spinning, its no big deal.
I can't make it up tomorrow, just Saturday. Incredibly nervous, not about the spinners, just about tech checks and my robot falling to pieces. In theory there are no problems, I've got a 2mm ti baseplate, 100a fuses, all the wiring is the same sort that is on the lipo, 12awg silicone stuff, everything failsafes, I've got locking bars for the bar, sharp edge protection, lipo bags and balance charger and a cradle of course. Is there anything i'm missing?

Any chance of some updates between the qualifying sessions; who has won, who is looking good, highlights?
Binky is now ready, just giving the batteries a charge, fitted with its new 1.2mm Ti5 ground scraping blade.
Conker II is almost repaired after yesterdays accident.
Just beginning to gather the tools together and find boxes to put the robots in, which is hard as both of them are over 500mm wide and 350mm long!

Well, I might be able to use it with the spinner, but see what happens.
Cheers.

I'd say 720, LF3 and Beauty all did well, as did Ricochet which was well-driven, even if it couldn't do a lot of damage. NST was deadly, but lost one fight. Predator was a disappointment I'm afraid. It looked great but was beaten by itself really. Tormenta did well but suffered quite bad damage to the weapon. There was a lot of destruction, and a lot of robots had to pull out of some battles.
On the whole, I really enjoyed this, and I can't wait 'til Sunday!Last edited by MudnuK; 6 April 2013, 15:58.
