Re: Robo Challenge - 2013 FRA UK Featherweight Championships

Cicatrix now has electronics that don't catch fire and a scoop that gives enough ground clearance to let the wheels touch the ground.

EJr is a new build which is night and day compared to the old one.

The moral of the story here though really is that anything we enter is going to be more competitive than my cousins entry 2 years ago, I think the only robot he actually took points from was your Gary?

Re: Robo Challenge - 2013 FRA UK Featherweight Championships

Hopefully this time we won't need a bag to transport the robot after the comp.

Hopefully get better control on Tormenta 2's lifter, go LiPo, and beef the armour up a bit with the resulting weight freedom.

As for the second machine, it was going to be big and elaborate, but cost-wise it isn't possible this time. We're going to throw together a rambot, most likely, so that dad can have something to drive.

My aim for the champs is not to eat as many Hot Dogs from the food kiosk, cost me a bloody fortune last year!

Re: Robo Challenge - 2013 FRA UK Featherweight Championships

Upgrade is to have a robot that is actually semi decent, so not being finished the night before and actually having working batteries are the plan for Massacre :P
I'm sporting a 2mm ti base plate, which will be less likely to get shredded and bent like the aluminum i used last year, different weapon and some grippyer wheels.

Hinged, lower angled wedges added to the front, possible replacement front wedge panels (currents ones are a bit chewed up, thanks Boner ), and a nylon lid so I can get the weight for some wheel protection for fighting NST.

Planning a new spinner to hopefully be ready in time. Needs to be done right tho. I hopefully will be on the reserved list.

Re: Robo Challenge - 2013 FRA UK Featherweight Championships

Binky Is pretty much done. Got some thrust bearings coming to help the disc spin freely but we are fitting GR02's o that will take a bit of work to make the new mount holes.

Conker on the other hand is in bits. I didn't leave enough space for the wiring so now I am having to create a loom that runs under the HDPE so that I have enough space. But with all my university work I am worried that it wont get done in time!

We won't have time to make a new Bitza so entering 2 wooden robots instead!

I just enjoy hearing James have to commentate on the fights during the competitions. Morning wood vs boner would be a cracker
