Pete, have spoken to John (and others) on this over the weekend.

If you want the roboteers to try to organise things more efficiently could you PM me with the budget that you have allocated to getting teams over and accomodating them, and the number of robots that this got over last year (which I know included Daleks and Skelly).

We'll then do the maths, and we're confident that we can build a more efficient model.

This is about demonstrating that the event can deliver more robots with the same money through being more efficient, and that's something any sponsor wants to see.

If that's not what you want to do, then that's fine, its your event after all, but we tried to help.

I think more machines/teams would be a benefit to the show and to the regular teams that attend. Last year i was really struggling to keep 3 heavies, a Dalek and a Mechanoid running for each show, having a few extra robots there would take the pressure off, plus would add abit more variety to the show. I think it was last year when we had a couple of heavies break down and we were struggling to have enough machines for the shows.

I can understand why it is ran the way it is, it is a very different style of event with limited space and fights. However a few more teams wouldn't go a miss, but i can see why you wouldn't want lots of teams turning up.

Just my thoughts as an EO looking in, but its your event and your free to do it whatever way you think works best.

John/Alan - the power is in Pete's hands now, I'm willing to ensure that we have something that works financially if we know what budgets we're working with, and importantly works for the teams, we've done it before and we can do it again

I would be more than happy to bring Bulldog Breed over for an event like this but travel is the issue so if the collective transport was made an option then it would be possible for us

Hello Pete...I have applied with 4 robots already but trevor and mega mouse also want to come over with us so if we are chosen then you will have 5 robots with 3 roboteers.

Of course I have offered services regarding the collective travel and would much prefer if a lot of robots travelled over but if not then the above stands with trevor with us.

Pete - ball is still in your court here, I have a package coming together, but need to know what the budgets are - not heard anything from you.

This is a great opportunity to show to BT that we can make their money go further (and any sponsor/client wants that), at worst you can offer a better package to those teams that would have gone anyway, and at best we can achieve your goal of having more teams there.

As someone who was there last year, there certainly was little contingency for a breakdown or someone driving a mech when they should have been elsewhere.

Shane, since Pete posted saying how great it would be to club together and get more teams to come, I've not heard anything from him despite trying to make contact through various means.

In order to try to make that happen, I already have ferry companies interested in offering us free transportation, and vans and drivers standing by (Team Storm always did have a thing for getting sponsorship).

If anyone can get hold of Pete and ask him to get in touch go for it, I've tried emailing him and PM'ing here - but without the detail from Pete on the budgets and what we're working with, there is little we can do

A shame as a real chance give more teams the opportunity to come, and make better use of the budget that Pete gets so that he can go back to his organiser and show what efficient use of limited budget they have been able to make. Win Win for all involved.

Suspect Pete is just busy and will get back to us, rather than not really interested in getting more teams along.

Anyway, sorry for the delay, been very busy.

Thanks a lot for all the offers of help. Some good ideas, but not much I can arrange from here.

Our budget for ferry and hotel for the teams is 3k euro including taxes. If you think you can get more teams over then you can collect the 3k when you get here.

You must be able to guarantee that the teams will get here and will be accommodated close to the venue.

Everything must be approved by us before hand. You have 1 week to make the arrangements. If it can't be done by then, I will have to start booking or the prices start going up.

Pete, crucial piece of information missing here - how many robots does that 3,000 Euro's bring you ?

Maybe Alan or one of the 'regulars' can provide some detail ?

3x Daleks
1x Skelly+Car
1x Wheelie Bin + Office Chair
4x Mechanoids
14x Heavyweights

The 3k covered just ferry and hotel B&B. Obviously, there are other costs directly relating to the teams but lets just look at the travel costs for now.
