Gutted...... what a poor performance !!!

      Beast and Ripper suck !!!

We should have stopped with stinger instead of taking the motor out to put in ripper.

          have you not heard !!!!

First it puts a saint sized hole in the polycarb !!!! yes massive hole.
Then it breaks a floor pannel.
Then it gets flipped and the spike goes through the floor into the tarmac !!

Its done the most damage, done the most fights, and hasnt broken down !!

          Most destructive robot here !!!

          John

                  Craig
We didn't run Saint on Saturday as Pete was worried about more damage to the arena. I was going to put it in the final melee but John asked me to drive Beast.

Apocalypse was a major embarrisment as it really struggled all week, it is now stripped down and still not behaving properly starting to run out of ideas why the drive electronics are playing up.

A really fun event, thanks to all the crew and organisers.

How did the other robots do Jonno and John, had a few problems with theirs, was that drive issues too?

John had a problem with Beast's flipper, but got it working by Saturday. And Jonno had some probs as well but Ripper was working very well by the end minus human error. But it wasn't working soon enough!

hmmmmm quick summary about our disapointment.

Stinger first fight against IA6, did very well, worked perfect... Audience vote for Stinger

Ripper first fight, moved 3 meters and broke the end off a bosch, flipper doing crazy things.
Decided to take a motor out of stinger to put in ripper, flipper worked on the bench

Beast first fight, flipper didn't fire once, broke the end off a bosch half way through.
Borrowed a motor from alan and fixed beast. Put it in the the robot and tested the weapon, worked fine.

Ripper v Puck Comp, first flip lost all the gas so was just pushing puck around, got stuck on the floor, puck wins.
Walked back to hotel in a sulk to get a spare valve out of my car and swapped it. Tested it, all fine.

Beast v Apocalypse, Beast flipper never fires, ends up upside down

Iron awe 5 gets disqualified against Big Bro
Iron Awe 6 lost to UFO

Looser 1) Beast v IA6 v Pressure, Beast flipper never fires, managed to stay alive, pushing robots, but lost by judge to IA6.
Decided to change the switch, go back to basics and replace it with a micro switch and servo. Put it in the arena to test, worked fine.

Looser2) Ripper v IA5 v Saint, Ripper gets one massive flip on IA5 but looses all the gas once again.
Back to the pits, worked fine. Then realised that the burket ive added since last year for a low pressure self right, which in England worked lovely on the road, had got something in it and was sticking open. This was the reason the flipper was loosing the gas. But it was now Friday night€¦ Bit late. Took the valve out and put it back to 2010 spec.

We could only think it was liquid freezing the valves on beast, so reconfigured the pipes.

                        Saturday - Last day
Ripper v Beast, ripper back to top form flipping beast all over the place€¦. Beasts flipper fired twice.

Stripped Beast down again€¦.. checked voltage to the valves and it turns out in a moment of madness MR LEAR had wired it up completely wrong, how it ever worked we will never know.
                        Rewired it.

                        Ripper v Puck v Pressure = REVENGE

                        Last fight -
Ripper was doing great until I realised I had forgotten to connect the bungees.
Beast was doing great until his bungee snapped.
Ripper and beast both left immobiliased with the flippers in the air and bunggees disconnected !!

IA5 v IA6 final, good fight lots of flipping. We are catching you though Grims !!

Brilliant event though€¦. We played monopoly on the ferry on the way home€¦..

Rob is a bit of a snake€¦took advantage of john Lears good will€¦ ended up with 4 stations, immunity from all lears properties, and got paid £100€¦ bargain.
I then took advantage of his good nature and ended up with 2 sets with hotels.
Poor Ed Wallace was bankrupt after spending too many nights at my Old Kent Road Hotel and paying tax every time he passed go.
Gilbert was€¦.. I don€™t really know€¦. Hanging on to Park Lane.

The Monopoly game will continue next year !!! LOL

Another great event. Some great fights and suprising results ( *cough* puck), Merlin, Kronic and UFO ran well all week which made life alot easier.

                          Quick run through of fights:

                          (1st Round)

Merlin Vs Pressure: Only told halfway through the fight that it was a competition fight! Pressure lost drive on one side, Merlin Won

UFO Vs IA6: UFO won, enough said!

Kronic Vs Saint (1st attempt): First flip Kronic throws Saint into the polycarb', polycarb breaks, fight ends!

Kronic Vs Saint (replay): Throw Saint around abit until it crashes through the floor, fight ends! Kronic Wins

                          (1/4 Finals)

Merlin Vs UFO: First fight on Saturday morning lead to some 'interesting' driving, Ed driving UFO, Merlin Wins

Kronic Vs IA6: Lots of throwing each other around, bit of the base plate bent on Kronic, causing it to drag and a pain to drive. IA6 wins

                          (Semis)

Merlin Vs IA5: Really good fight, Merlin on top for most of the fight, IA came back at the end and won on a judges vote.

                          (3rd Place PO)

Merlin Vs Bigger Brother: Another really good close fight, BBs gas ran out at the end and I managed to stack him on wall. Merlin Wins

                          Video of the final fight:
