  • Re: 2010 Featherweight UK Championships - 3 Days September

Ooh, nice addition. As fun as Roxanne was - it was one of the rounds at our union pub quiz - it lost a bit of its fun after a while because everyone knew when all the times to stand up were and no one got it wrong as often (anyone who stood up at the wrong time lost a point for their side of the split and the song was taken back to the start - it used to go on for aaaages!)
But with ankle trousers and spins it could be interesting! If anyone's got a battery-powered mp3 dock that we can play the song through, bring it along

(please note: memebers of the Fighting Robots Association always encourage...errr...'sensible drinking' )

                Hi Guys

Judging Update * - Due to our normal Judges either not being available or they went and built a robot to compete with, we are currently struggling to find 3 judges for the entire event. Kindly el presidento has come up with a solution which i would like to put to you.

On the friday qualifiers after each battle the 3 roboteers that have just fought, judge the battle immediately after. This way we get a rotation of judges. Obviously if they have any connection to a robot in the next battle they will need to be changed to keep things fair. Either one of our crew or John Bell will be overlooking the judging and giving advice throughout. On the sat & sun people will know if they are through or out of the championships. For these days i would really like roboteers who are out of the comp to put their names forward to judge for the remainder of the competition. Robo Challenge and John Bell will select 3 Judges from the names put forward. Obviously again nobody can judge if they are connected to any robot in the champs.

                What are your thoughts everyone?

As President of the FRA I fully endorse this idea and would promise to make sure that it is scrupulously fair at all times.

John, Sarah has a small 3 man tent that you are welcome to borrow for the weekend providing you pitch it the other side of the field because we HAVE heard you snoring

Looking forward to the event, lets make it a good one

                      See you all there

                      John

The ali shaft looks beautiful on Scorpion, especially now adorned with a beautiful axehead - steel supplied by Mike Hamilton Macy. Looking forward to playing at Portsmouth
Thanks again for the shaft John

One two-man tent here, with one-person occupancy.

Judging plan sounds fine James. While it can be a serious part of the competition, it should hopefully be quite fun and give everyone an insight into the life of a judge
