the format was a great change and worked very well and i hope all the teams enjoyed it as much as the we did, i think the teams were very evenly matched and it could have gone either way ...

I for one cant wait to do it all again and defend our TITLE HEAVYWEIGHT TEAM CHAMPIONS ( THE TILLY ALLSTARS !!!!!!! )

Well done the Tilly All Stars.

Thanks to Robots Live! for a fab weekend, the new format certainly seemed to work. Also a BIG thanks to all the young up and coming drivers, and the teams who let them drive their robots in the Tanja Memorial Fight. Well done to Alex driving Mini Mighty Mouse, and to Trevor whose robot he was driving.

Wow, what a weekend, I think it's going to take me a month to recover!

Firstly, a really big thank you to all the roboteers that came and for entering into the spirit of things. It was really great to see the effort the teams put in to dressing up and decorating the robots and pits.

Congratulations to Shane and the Tilly Allstars on the win.

Next a very special thank you to all those who helped out during the event, whether that was running the raffle, checking tickets or helping with the arena. I'm not going to name names because I'd undoubtedly forget someone but you know who you are.

Finally the Robotslive crew, thanks for all your work over the weekend and the support and guidance over the last couple of months, I think it all paid off!

We certainly had some good crowds and a great response to the raffle which means we should have raised a decent amount for Macmillan. I will ofcourse post the amount as soon as I have done the sums!!

This event has certainly been an eye opener. Roboteers should be under no illusions the amount work that goes into organinsing and running an event. Without Robotslive and Roaming Robots we wouldn't have a sport, so please don't take these guys for granted.

So will the Tilly Allstars get a chance to defend their title? We'll have to wait and see.....

Based on feedback, I think the format in general worked quite well, although some of the games may need tweaking a bit!

Hi great week end enjoyed the 4 shows,

The Robots

Saint, no major problems at all, the feather axe got bent!! My driving was as bad as ever got flipped out of the arena more times than I would like to count and lost every fight.

Seraph, the speed controller failed at the first fight so that was that. :shock:

Pilgrim, normally there is no problems with this one but this week end the Anderson connector. One of the conductor pins came loose and had to find this annoying intermittent fault, also the brushes on the right hand motor got stuck so another intermittent fault had to be fixed.

Many thanks to Gilbert and Rob and all the Robots Live crew for their effort to put on such a great show a special thanks to Ed for help with the dead wotty.


Loved the format even though the games were not good for my type of robot,

Saints and Sinners
We came last in the competition we were winning up to the last fight, four robots against five and one time it was us one flipper turned ram bot, one very good flipper, a lifter and my joke of a robot, against 4 good flippers and Thor.

It was lambs to slaughter.

Well done Tilly all Stars. Glad you beat that big bunch of pink puffs.

Rob....well i had a great event mate.....the format worked really well and brought together roboteers in a real nice way. Ed Hoppitt i thought was great on the mic entertaining the audience. Great job by robots live too. A big thanks to the mighty reds i think we did well and enjoyed ourselves. Should have put the ref bot oota.

I hope you raised a nice wedge for charity lads.

Well done to IA5 for taking the teambud trophy from ripper. Jonno was gutted. Still is i think. Can roboteers please get there challenges in for guildford on the teambud trophy thread. Gonna be hard to get it from IA5 i think.

Again a great event.....one of the best i have been to for a while.

what an excellent weekend we had a great time, many thanks to rob, gilbert and robots live
for puting together 4 gr8 shows.The teams seamed quite even and was gr8 to all work together,
congrats to the all stars on your win but I am looking forward for the oppertunity for the mighty reds
to steal the title from you !
I hope we have made loads for charity and also that maybe norwich might be a future venue again,
unless they found a few holes in their floor ! lol

Strange you should mention the floor. I got called in today to inspect the damage.... one big gouge and about half a dozen other marks. I think this maybe expensive

crums what a downer, I only said it because there was so much to protect it,
never thought anything could get through 3 layers ? how ? where they all where
robots were landing ? or was it them flat wheels on their trolly when they removed
all the ply floor boards ? hope you can get away with it or its bloody cheap to sort out
let us know the outcome, hope its a good one.

Gutted to hear that for you.... it was the most protective floor ive seen ever !!!

Been in that horrible position before so know what it feels like.... before the cages it used to be caused by a certain two yellow robots making robots fly !!

Interested to know how, and where and why ??

A huge thanks to Rob and gilbert for a very interesting and entertaining weekend.Really loved the team aspect of the event and it was obvious that Team Barbie were the true winners You know that we took it took it easy on the Tilly Allstars in the final. :wink:
Well done Shane your team did you proud.
Thanks to the RL crew for your hard work lets hope that the charity gets a nice pay day.
If anybody has photos or film of Team Barbie or Alex in the Tanja Memorial Fight can you please e-mail them to me as i have got only 1 piccie of the team.

Update on the robots:
Stagefright has never come home in a worse state, bent flipper arm,split ti chassis,base plate in 2 pieces and not even looked at the electrics yet .Battleaxe is a big bully picking on a dead robot like that.
Tiny Toon top lid bent in by B/axe pressing down on the sidewinder not sure yet if its nacked.
Stagefright is out of action for the forseable future and TT struggling for Guildford and Edinburgh.
Toon Raider fixed last night and ready to go

What a great event, that was the least stressful event ive had crewing for a long time. So had chance to get involved more and enjoy the event. Well done to all the teams in making a great show for the audience. Well done to Shane and the all stars on winning the team event and Alex in the Tanja Memorial fight.

Apocalypse did ok. Finally got the better of IA5, 1 on 1 next time, time for a team bud challenge I think. DB5 only had the two fights still struggleing needs a bit more restoration after the the 360 - LS incident.

I think im going need some time to recover after this one!

Well done to Rob for doing a great job organising his first event, and putting the money to a good cause, and for letting all the crew crashing at his house (even if there was abit of slave labour involved on the Saturday night!).

I think the overall the competition format worked well, couple of tweaks here and there, but nice to have something abit different. Thanks to the teams for getting into the spirt of things, the crowd seemed to get behind it as well. Although not a fan of 4 shows!!

Congrat's to all the winners; Tilly Allstars, IA5 for taking the Team Bud Trophy home and Mini Mighty Mouse for winning the Tanja Memorial fight.

Kronics damage doesn't look as bad as first thought.

Thanks all the crew; Ed W, Dave W, Adam, Ed H, Dave G and Terry and his mate for helping putting the arena up and down.

Next stop Edinburgh! :shock:
