looks like your on the limitations of your lathe! bet that billet cost a fair bit aswell. How heavy and thick rimmed is the body shell going to be when finnished?

Half inch more wouldnt fit on the lathe and Graeme got the billet on ebay. Theres another 19mm height ring to go on the bottom yet. Going to be 35mm think on the bottom ring with 7mm thick top (if the weight is calculated correctly) and then pockets milled insdie the 35mm part to bring it back down to weight (5.8kg inc 4 teeth).

Thought Id post a warning note, lol. Japanese Fighting Tortoise currently has dimensions of 10x170x10cm...so I may need a pit bench in a corner so I can prop it up to save space. lol.
