Oooh hes coming to us like the Terminator !!! was something Mario heard from the fleeing masses. Ah well, the other Flemish and Dutchmen (with the exception of WJ but he is a special case anyway...) stayed dry and cozy in the beertent while the rest of the crowd was either trying to outrun a very efficient Kane-Mario-team or trying to get their baberques started in the downpour. Dont know what hit them harder: the heavenly buckets or the KM-teams wettinators.

The event itself was great, efficient people all around as usual, but I dont know what that poor girl in bikinis was doing in the pits on Sunday. Man, she must have frozen to death that poor kitty ! And no kind gentlemen offering their coats ! Shame on you !!

      Match Report:
Tilly AFC vs Windy Wonders FC

It was a glorius evening at the Newark showground even the rain couldnt spoil the event. The two captains lined up the, Mighty Mini Shane and the Sian the trig Phillips, took there picks and the sides were drawn.
both sides got off to an explosive start and quickly the scores were 3-1 to the Windy wonders, so the mighty Tilly AFC desided to bring in number one goal keeper Paul Gibbo the mighty Gibb which helped there cause to no evale as soon its was 4-2 and the sheer brilliant captain Shane Tilly took an injury to his mighty little finger and both him and Craig the cannon Danby had to leave the field of play, with the injury departure of what be came clear the 2 best players on the pitch the fantastic Tilly AFC went 9-3 down to the lax and un impressive Windy Wonders.
the mighy Gibb soon gave way to second choice goalie telsa man Dave gamble which some what explained the score line, then the long awaited return of captain Shane and the Cannon brought a turn around. with the score at 9-3 it was time Tilly AFC turned on the charm and blagged there way back into the match.
Cannon Craig Danby took his time in goal and became top shot stopper with that and the combination of killer crosses from Mr Kenny himself and Ian DTKs better than Dantomkia and mighty runs from dutch wonder WJ whos anti-gravity passes soon turned the tide of defeat to a tsunami of victory with capt trig letting in 12 goals to get the score to 15-9 and a glorius display from Tilly AFC
      final score
the amzingly brilliant superstar footballers that are Tilly AFC 15
the unimpressive boring windy wonders 9

Take a look in a few days, there will be more to come!

Ive had a great time, even though the robot broke down the first day and nobody seemed to have a spare bosh. Too bad there where lots of burned out electronics and motors.

I think I might have recorded that, but it will take one or two days before I can get it online.

Has anyone found a Robotwars baseballcap? Ive lost mine at Newark somewhere.

                    Thanks for all the compliments

Ive only just recovered enough to check this thread and am honored with the remarks.

It was you guys and gals (not me) who made it such a fun weekend. In fact, I spend a lot of time feeling like a boring old fxrt! - but I didnt get stressed this time (in spite of some admisistrative hasstles  )

Overall it was very sucessful and Ive already booked a little more sunshine for next year.

Thanks of course to Jonno and the RR crew who did all the real work.

Im sad to admit that there were several guests from this forum that I did not get to meet  please accept my apologies.

The only critism I recieved has been the lack of visibility on how you are doing in the running for trophies. Next time we will get a sheet up that shows how many times youve been in the arena and how your score is building.

                    Regards to you all

                    Kevin S.

I liked the footy alot trying to dodge the onslaughts from Ian (ewe 2) and Tim (stinger) was a bit difficult at times, but still good fun

You roboteering british should try to do a bit more sports, would do you good

                        WJ,

There was only one....ermmmmm......dodgy tackle that I can remember. The grass was wet and I slid in a bit hard. I had the regen braking turned off on my boots!!!

Pleased to see your team do well last night on TV though. Sending the Germans home in Euro 2004. Not a tear was shed in the UK!

                        Ian

In the company euro 2004 poule I have England and holland planned for the final, so it would be nice to see it end like that !

And no hard feelings bout the tackle, Ian, I know it wasnt on purpose, and I can take a little hammering no prob (used to it, actually...)

rematch at the robotwars world championships in august ?

Oh WJ, were you impressed with my moon walking talking? I think i might start selling the idea across. I thought it worked really well myself, i could walk and talk, and be MJ.
(I liked your MJ moves btw)
