14th & 15th April 2007 - Robots Live! Burgess Hill
Just back from the Saturday Evening Show, and I have to say what a very well organised event it was, lights, effects, little sideshows with Ians radio controlled wheelie bin and chair, a dalek and mechanoid. Boxing robots, feather weights and heavies.
... and even old Ed (Alan Partridge) Hoppitt with a rather good bit of commentary.
I enjoyed myself even though I broke two robots.
More than impressed.
Well done chaps
Rob

And the Sunday was just as good. The arena is very nice. The roboteers were well taken care of (as was the audiance). The whole thing had a wonderful feel to it and it was great to see so many people packing the place - there must have been close to 2,500 people at the three shows in total.
More please.
14th & 15th April 2007 - Robots Live! Burgess Hill
Just got back from the event - and what an event it was too. There were 2,500 spectators give or take a couple and the positive feedback from them was overwhelming.
Rob : Thanks for the compliment, though Im not sure about the Alan Partridge reference - if we didnt ham it up a little bit it just wouldnt be the same. Rick passes on his thanks too for all the compliments we had on the commentary and how refreshing people found it.
Storm II was suffering a few technical niggles - nothing that cant be fixed though, and thanks to Tim for some sterling driving. Looking forward to the next event guys - keep them coming !
14th & 15th April 2007 - Robots Live! Burgess Hill
An exellent event, well done to THZ and Little Hitter.
Also a big well done to Robots Live, 3 great shows plus 2500 bums on seats too!!
Pain In The Asp managed a reasonable 3rd, but still needs a bit of fine tuning before its 100%.
(thanks to the featherweight guys for allowing a fat Yankee spec. robot into the comp.)
14th & 15th April 2007 - Robots Live! Burgess Hill
Another really enjoyable weekend. Thanks to the Robots Live guys for all their hard work and a truly excellent event, its just a shame that we broke down so couldnt compete in the final show!

Well done again to Robots Live for another event even better than the last. Arrived home exhausted on Sunday even though it was only a 30 minute drive
Well done also to THz and LH for their hard fought wins
Overall I have come to the conclusion it isnt robots that have pit magnets - its pits! That just leaves me looking for the giant lump of iron hidden somewhere in Small Torque
14th & 15th April 2007 - Robots Live! Burgess Hill
Great event, and appologies for not being able to help with taking down the last bits of the arena.
Sam Smith doesnt have access to the internet for a few weeks and would like to say a big thankyou to RobotsLive! and is now going to make a point of not being so nice next time hes in the semi finals against THZ

Hi all,
First just to say a big thank you to all that attended the event. This event is a sign of things to come from us with over 2€™500 people attending, shows the sports still alive and kicking. Talks are already in progress regarding next year and possible other interests.
Big thanks to the crew who without it wouldn€™t be possible; Ed Wallace, Dave Moulds, Dave and John Lang, Dave Gamble and Sian. Thanks as well to Sam and Grant for staying behind and Dave Western for helping on the Saturday (too many Dave€™s!) and anybody else I forgot. Thanks to Ed and Rick for doing a great job presenting the show and getting the audience involved. Thank you to all for your positive comments.
Well done to our winners THZ and Little Hitter, the axes are back on form.
