To get there by 9 Id have to leave tonight, the earliest trains I can get get me there at 10

Having last minute problems with HA; been countersinking the armour mounting holes, and now I cant get 2 of the screws back in!

Plus the chassis is rather warped as well, so I need to put in additional brackets, whicch, without the use of drill taps, is a pain.

Ill be there and fighting one way or another

      Were out.
Just found out whilst loading the car that we have a couple of bits of robot missing. We leant our robot to a local engineering firm for a royal visit and the bottom polycarb/arolan have gone. I never thought to look for them until we needed them. f$%^*$$&- !£$%^
We have a room booked at the Travel Lodge for tonight tomorrow, cost £78 if anybody wants it. Any cash would be nice but we lose the money as its a saver room with no cancellations allowed.

      Sorry James

Finaly got home at 10PM!... North Wales seems a hell of a long way from East Sussex!

A big well done has to go James and Co. for what, after one or two early problems, turned out to be a very good event. We were all very well looked after with what seemed to be an endless supply of rolls, sandwhiches, crisps & other snacks!(Never mind slightly overweight rebots, we were in real danger of ending up with some slightly overweight roboteers!!)
Well done to Pete Lale and Team Tilly for the outstanding team award, to Little Hitter for a well deserved victory in the feathers and (At the risk of being accused of blowing ones own trumpet) to Scorpion in the heavies!

So, James, when are you doing the next one??!!

Echo to what Geoff said - a great event. For our first proper combat event, it didnt go too badly. We had intermittent electrical problems with all three bots throughout the weekend but managed to keep them going for the final melee at the end.

Congrats to Little Hitter for winning the feather award and for proving to me that 2mm ali chequer plate isnt strong enough to take axe blows and not deform (had an inkling that might happen, but strongly hoped it wouldnt ). And well done to Scorpion too for taking the heavyweight prize.

Many thanks to James Baker for putting on the event (and at a location that was reasonbly near for us ) Hope youre able to put on another one sometime in the future.

Also to quickly thank Shane for the stainless and ali bits you gave me for free - most likely to be used to remake Kaizers chassis (along with some HDPE, which, after seeing it on Hells Angel and seeing how cheap it is, is my new favourite material )

Pics and videos online hopefully later on tonight

                              Well done James,

A few problems at the start granted, but welcome to world of events once again !!!

Turned out to be a successfull event in the end, it was nice just being a roboteer for a change although was just as tied when i got home.... probably mostly due to the miles id driven and the party on the saturday night.

Congratulations on raising as much money for the new school roof

                                Hi all.

Good event james, shame I missed that final melee. The Problem: a loose wire, came out of the terminal block. Bugger.

Thanks for sorting out lifts to my accom. and to Wrexam station, really appreciated it.

Geoff: you got home at 10, I got in my front door at 10:30. God I hate public transport :P
