Allthough the FRA rules dont limit the size of a robot most people built to the old robotwars wars size limit, which if I remember was 1.2m wide, so this would be a safer option.

Ive put Turbulence in the old Robochallenge arena with Ed a few times when that had a one metre square (ish) door, it was awkward. And Turbulence isnt the biggest of machines. (800mm wide x 1000mm long)

How do you plan to arm up the robots? Put one robot in, arm it up, drive it away, put the 2nd in, arm it up, drive it away etc? Or are you having two doors?

Would it be that hard to make it abit bigger?

The biggest a robot can be according to the rules is 1.4metre square. (if i remeber correctly?) So atleast make it big enough to fit that + the arms of the people putting the robot in.

I pressume you have designed the arena in some sort of CAD. Willing to show us all a preview?

How exactly do we load through this door? what about carrying/lifting it through? Is the only access into arena?

the door will be approx 2 meters wide in order to allow robots such as TAN, terrorhurtz and kan-opener to enter the event. Does the 1 meter height cause any problems... loading is NOT one of them by the way, I thought about that before designing the arena. It was just tempting to keep the small door if it was convinient it isnt, so I havent

By the way, the guy in charge of organizing the event has asked if youd all like to have a party on the Saturday night. With a local live band, food and possibly beer. If its something people would like Ill let him know to go head with it.

                      cheers Craig

i have had too many middles withdraw, so as of now, the middleweight class is not running in full competition due to lack of entries.

Middles are still welcome to compete in whiteboard type fights, or with the heavies in the competition, either alone or as custers.

                          I need some feedback please.

Terrorhurtz and kan-opener posted information above, which I hope means they are attending? If this is the case, and of course with all robots, is everyone happy to abide by an American style tap out rule, to save too much damage happening in full competition fights? If so Ill install a submit button.

in FCC a tap out rule makes sense to me. Id say install it.
