Well done to all involved in organising the event. Looked like a great event with plently of public to back it up. Will definatly look forward to seeing the dome around the arena next time. A little crowded in the pits with so many robots turining up but good atmosphere.
Ive recoved a little after getting back at 2:30am last light and being up for over 24 hours but well worth the long journey. Probably stay over night next time though.
Mike. Dont I remember someone saying that those Arena spikes wouldnt bend .
Simply a superb day. A tremendous amount of work put in by Simon, Gary, Mike, Jon, Gareth and others to make this a very successful event for both the Roboteers and the public.
Slapped wrist for the OOTAs, I must sort out that adrenalin rush I suffer from. Still, they went down well with the audience
What with some expenses, lunch, tea & coffee all provided, we were well looked after. As Mark said above, pits rather over crowded but that was the only problem I saw.
This event does show that there is still plenty of interest from the public in events like this, especially considering this is what the third Worthing event.
WELL DONE Mike, Gary, Simon et al.
Many thanks for a fantastic day, love the new arena. As Paul says, plenty of public interest too.
As for the lunch and refreshments, without doubt the best we have had at any live event
Roll on Worthing 2004!!
Yes, heartily agree, big chummy pats on the back all round, the only thing missing was the thunderbird boys talking gibberish for hours, and telling giraffe jokes.
Adam enjoyed himself, and drove well enough, but I must say I went with the intention of running carrot into the ground, but you are obviously all too weedy, as carrot is still running fine, no damge a lump hammer cant repair.
Shame we didnt drive that well in RW7... never mind
Rob... (rebuilding for modelworld...)
We also had a great time. I thought the arena was brilliant and the organisation was great, and even though it was a very long day, and I spent most of the battles sans weapon and driving backwards, I wouldnt have missed a second of it.
My only regret is we travelled all that way and I didnt see the sea. (Hey, Im from the midlands, its still a big thing for me.)
Were there slapped wrists for you too Ed? I seem to remember Storm causing more than its fair share of OOTAs.
Another thing Ill remember for a long time (I suspect in my nightmares) is the sight of Mike wearing those tinselly antenna things. I tried to get a picture but theyd vanished next time I looked.
Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to put on such a brilliant event. You can count on us for next year.
A great success from where I was sitting as it looked like a full house for the 2nd show and the queue was up the road for the 3rd.
You said it would be loud...however I take it youve never seen a truck demolition derby.
Shame on you Mike for disappearing as David didnt manage to give you the present hed made especially for you (theres nothing like piling on the guilt trip). Anyway you guys had better watch out in the future as I reckon Davids going to want to build a monster machine from the way he was not just looking but inspecting Growler and Mr Psycho.
Hiya folks........... grand day out for Toecutter2 as well...... now officially retired (again). I had a great time, you lot certainly kept me busy with tx control!
And now..HELP!!!!!....silly question time....!!
Due to my memory being a bit hazy on Saturday, (the effects of 41 hrs without sleep setting the arena up and then taking it down again!) I remember having a chat with someone about reconditioned hydraulic rams for use with full pressure co2. Unfortunately, I cannot remember who I spoke to!! Please email me or post here to let me know who you were! LOL! Thanks guys!
It was great and we were well cared for, thanks to the crew who made it happen, kept us fed and watered, and even found a place for the kids to play in instead of running havoc in the pits.
I have put my pictures on a temporary site: http://users.pandora.be/P3/Worthing/http://users.pandora.be/P3/Worthing/ where you can easily download them. Too bad the quality of pictures is rather poor, but I did get Mike with the Tinsel Antennae !
Hi to you all. A great big thanks to all who helped and also to those who attended. Without you lot the show could not have been the huge success that it was.
By now you should all know our plans for the future. It looks very bright and positive!!!
It was an honour to meet and greet you all again. Hope to see a few of you again at Brighton.
Weve had a great time! TAN held up great. We did the last to fights on a single charge Those new batteries have held well.
