RW extream destruction PC windows 8 problems

Was feeling the nostalgia today and went to play this game for a while but it really doesn't want to run properly on windows 8, come to install it all and comes up with an error at the end of the installation, any way's I can get it to behave and run properly?

Its such an old game that I suspect it will never run even with the emulator built into Windows 8 and 7. Your best bet would be to find a version of XP online, install it on a USB 3 memory pen and boot off the pen in XP, then install the Game to the USB and play it like that. That way all the software, drivers and versions of things like Direct X will be correct.

google direct x 9 for windows 8 and follow the instructions to install/enable it depending

Right click and run it in windows XP compatibility mode, works for me on windows 7 albeit with minor graphical glitches

There used to be a video on how to install on vista or 7, worked on 7, can't find it now, must have been taken off.
