  • Wheel emergency!

I'm after some 125mm wheels, and normally I'd get them from Banebots. Unfortunately, the Banebots wheels have just gone out of production, and I'm slightly worried that they supply RoboChallenge with their wheels too.
Does anyone know anywhere else I can get some? Preferably 20ish mm wide, and definitely mountable to a drill shaft.

Am having a similar problem, found these from America. Searching ebay for Colson 5 inch wheels yields similar results.

edit: You'd have to melt a 3/8 nut in. Erm am having a go at making my own wheels in various ways lol. The cruder I make them the better they get somehow.

The robochallenge blue wheels are from the Cooper's dads wheel and caster business. Should be no issues with their supply

I was told Robochallenge weren't making blue wheels for sale anymore.

Banesbot wheels out of production? Where has that information come from?

Straight from the technobots site, the place I normally get them from.

I just think technobots are stopping selling them. You can get them from the banebots website if you desperately need them.

This is from the Technobots site:

Reluctantly, we are phasing out the Banebot wheels and hubs for commercial reasons. The product range remains an excellent solution for many applications but we do not have an alternative to offer at this time.

It says nothing about them going out of production. "Commercial reasons" is probably that they cost to much to import and sell and they don't sell enough of them to make it worth their while.

                Ah, my bad, I misunderstood.
Quick question, which mount do I need to fit them onto a drill shaft?

It's not as simple as that. Drills have a 3/8" UNF thread on them, so the hex bores of the wheels won't go straight on. You will need to find a nut that does have that and will have a 3/4 hex. This has been discussed in a few topics in the featherweight section. have a look there.

Hex hub with a half inch bore works well if you shim the hub. Check out the thread I had on boner for around this time last year

It's hard to tell the size of the unfinished bore from the pictures, but would it be strong enough if I simply drilled and tapped it to fit the shaft?
