  • The Defenitive Wiring Gauge Guide

    So, finding the correct wire gauge to use on the web is very confusing as every site says a different thing, at least to beginners like me.

    In my case, i am running two 6v motors @ 7.2v for the drive on my mantisweight and i don't know if i should keep my 22awg wiring or replace with 18awg.

    People on this forum have many years of experience, so if someone could make a small guide/chart or something like that, i think many people would appreciate it.

    Run your machine at full throttle, doing spins and rushes, for the full time of a match and then look at the wires and feel them. Are they hot? Has the insulation has warmed up and become soft? Decide from that if you need thicker wire. One dirty experiment is worth a thousand clean calculations.

      Thanks, that should settle things.
      But i think that is to risky. Something can go horribly wrong and set a fire or destroy components.

      In my case, i changed the wiring to 18awg, just to be shure every thing is fine.

      On the web, every site says a different thing, if someone have a good chart i think it would be usefull for some people starting this hobby.

        It depends on the wiring itself. Each is made to a different spec irregardless of the thickness.
