  • Petrol engiene and sepektrum servo problem

my mate is making a huge rc car using a minimoto engiene. the throttle of the engiene is controlled using a servo through a dx5e reciver, with a 6v battery to work it all

away from the engine and car the servo setup works well however when he puts it in the car the servo starts moving up and down without the sticks been moved
the reciver is an ar one

anybody have an idea of what is causing it and how to solve it??

    HELP!!!

Petrol engiene and sepektrum servo problem

I made an RC car with a minimoto engine, about 6ft long dragster, ill have to rebuild it. I used tower pro servos for steering and throttle/brake. What brakes he got? I used mechanical disk brake from a pushbike, the disk is only just smaller than the kart wheels/tyres so theres like 10mm ground clearance only.

By the sounds of it, the coil ignition on the motorbike motor is hitting the servo board with a lot of electrical noise. Try shielding the ignition coil to stop the noise from reaching the servo.

try going to car accessory shop and getting a radio suppression. The one that your looking for goes in the HT lead between the coil and the plug. They are easy to fit.

Petrol engiene and sepektrum servo problem

bit of an update i went to see the problem for myself today

the servo when the engine is off works as you would expect

but when the engine is on, even just tick over the servo twictches and doesnt respond as should, when moved away from the engine even about 1 metre no difference

and when trying to control throttle does the same thing but obviously would cause car to go crazy

br6000 reciver doesnt make any difference in fact it appeared to keep failsafing and when i turned the tx off on it worked again

so any ideas??? he has chaged some pipe or lead no help

            ?????

@Tom its disc brake or will be

            btw car has 13.5bhp

Iv crashed a few helis, I ended up getting cheapo walkeras in the end at like £130 each, but crashed them so i quit with helis, Got a plane but never really got to use it so sold that and just stuck with the nitro cars since then. Im going to get a Schumacher Fusion 28 as my last nitro car then im going for a brushless car, Alot cleaner, and there just plug in and play, Nitros you gotta tune them alot and clean them all the time. i would like to do somthing with the little 4 stroke engines, My big dragster rc car is 2 stroke.
