  • Fundraising request - spinal research

This isnt a normal post but please read on,

My brother is planning to run the Paris, London and Edinburgh marathons all within 8 weeks of each other to raise money for spinal research.

He has ran several marathons and during his last marathon in Amsterdam, 6 miles in he fractured his fibula (that means broke his leg in non medical language). Even though he was in great pain and couldnt run properly he continued the marathon and ran the remaining 20 miles. He finished in a time of 5 hours 9 minutes (the average was 4 hours 30minutes).

After this, even though he had broken his leg he had to cycle for 10km to get the train to make it to the airport to catch his flight home.

After this ordeal he had to be rushed to the Hospital where he ended up with a cast on for a total of 6 weeks and the doctors told him he shouldnt have been able to finish the marathon.

This time when he wasnt able to use his leg and walk properly gave him time to reflect and he has since decided to run these 3 marathons in close succssesion to help those that have been paralysed with a spinal injury.

If you wish to help sponsor my brother you can sponsor him at the following address, if you dont wish to then I thank you for reading this post.
