I hope this link works. The switch in the picture is probably the type of thing they use.
To modify a robot in the UK with this switch (with 2 keys) instead of a removable link would not be too hard for most robots.

The message from David is a bit terse but the Battlebots rumours circulate every year(5 at least)
April is a bit close to get machines built and ready as the build rules have been written by a lawyer and not an engineer
This would suggest that it is wishfull thinking again maybe.
Why the Battlebots folk do not use the RFL ruleset which is very similar to our own European build rules defies logic.
Approx 200 machines conform to either ruleset so why create another.
On a personal view as a hydraulic machine user the 3000 psi(207 bar)pressure limit is a joke when others use up to date materials such as hardox etc.
I might have it wrong but certificates or engineering calculations are required for non standard components
Does a home made buffer tank require a cert at 1.5 times the 70 bar maximum gas pressure?or do you bamboozle the lawyer with your own stress calculations.
The Entrant is required to supply data sheets and/or computations and/or certified hydrotesting results to prove that the custom component is properly designed and built to have a burst pressure that is 300% of the maximum pressure that the component will be subjected to during operation
Also note that ANY physical modification to a std pneumatic or hydraulic part may put it into the custom component bracket.
