Alex, get hold of Karoline (Team Pillowtorque), she does all of ours and is the un-rivaled expert on stick-on graphics.

Several firms offer the sticker service. Those you can find in the yellow pages. Merchandizing shops for example.

Other option is to print them yourself. And this comes in different possibilities. With the right printer you can use commercialy available sticker paper.
Other option is to print the desing on normal paper, glue this on the robot and cover with 3mm polycarb or such. I did this on Project III

We get ours made for Kan-Opener because they have to be HUGE, but that is often very expensive, i suggest you do what Envy and Thor do,(i think and get sticker paper and cut the letters out individually, very unique that way and alot less expensive. i think!

          115g m/2 is best

Either that or any shop that sells inkjet paper will sell A4 label paper

Once its done its a matter of careful cutting out then just peel and stick.

BTW I do the t-shirts with Dark t-shirt inkjet transfer paper from WH Smith

Thats the stuff - that will produce a glossy finish just like photographic paper but it is flexible enough to go round bends/curves etc without creasing

It stands up very well - I put on the Small Torque decal at Easter and it did 7 events including the UK FW Champs before I changed it only because it looked a bit ropey however it was still stuck down.
Anything that can damage the paintwork can damage the decal whether it is stuck on or a transfer but this method is certainly cheaper than transfers

i bought some of the stuff recommended but, on using found it was not very sticky, and that it wasnt clear

any ideas how to solve this? could i cut them out and use super glue to stcik it to my metal?
i need it for barnsley (any alternatives welcome)

                    thanks alex

did you make sure the surface you put it on was very clean and free of any form of oil? otherwise it should stick.
It says its paper, its not going to be clear. Thats why karoline said to cut them out.

well i ordered some different stuff, but it hasnt arrived does anyone have any clear printing plastic, which is adhesive which they could print my logo on for me?

or should i just cut the ones out and use sticky back plastic on them?

                        thanks alex

                          Stickers on robots

Hi Alex, sorry I havnt got back to you in time for Barnsley but I have been very busy with my new job.

There is no point in trying with clear sticky film or paper as computer printer inks are semi-transparent. Professional print shops would be able to do that but not your inkjet, bubblejet or laser printer attached to your home computer. Also white ink is impossible to come by
If you saw Pain in the Asp at Barnsley - the snake and lettering were done on white self-adhesive glossy photo paper which is cut out by hand. The trick is to design anything so that it is large enough and doesnt need intricate cutting. Thick lettering is much better than fancy lettering and the less number of pieces the better. Another method I use is to print on coated film for inkjet printers but again this is not clear but has a gold or silver base colour.

I have looked on PC Worlds website and they dont do any self-adhesive paper - neither do WH Smith, Staples or Cartridge World for that matter. The only place I have found any is on Ebay
