Just wondering if its possible to successfully repair an SLA with a crack/hole in the side of the casing by supergluing/epoxying a bit of polycarb over it ?

Seems a shame to throw it away if it can be fixed.

Melted some plastic into a hole on one of mine at the Championships last year, worked OK, seen us through to the end of the event. Still working now.

Have even see a SLA which was customised to reduce size by sawing the bottom off and replacing it with fibreglass. Not recommended but shows what you can get away with. By all means repair it and see how it holds up.

Should be OK Dom, as long what you are using as glue/cover is acid resistant.

What would you reccomend? Would superglue and 1mm polycarb be up to the job ?

I had a hole in an Kiel where the wheel had worn it through... aradilted lexan over it, held in place with duct tape while it dried.. never bothered to take the tape off...worked fine

but that was in another era Dom, now youll be needing at least nicads, if not lithium power
