Whats the best way to open a tin without a tin opener using only what can be found in the standard kitchen? (a problem I came across the other day)

Or you could try it in the microwave for 30 seconds. That should do the trick too!

lol thanks for the answers. Incidentally I thrust a blunt knife in several times (until it punctured) and then used it like a tin opener when inserted

Babs and I have problems Bliep/Bliep and Bliep... euhm.... let us leave that out....

On the can problem. I have seen what happens with a can of wieners on a gas flame. A painted kitchen with the color and smell of wieners. The can opened a small pinhole and sprayed everything out with the steampressure.

On the gearing problem. Pete, if you can keep the motors cool, you could try for the 12/1 gearing, with a good current limited speedo.
But in the end, the advantages the Bosch 400s have on Graupner speed 900s are the higher torque due the bigger diameter and the higher heat sink capacity due weight.

In Gravity bosch 750s were run on 10 kart wheels, with a 20/1 dual stage reduction
and limited to 36V 75 amps. I doubt anyone would call Gravity slow or not powerfull.

Buy a large perambulator and take your progeny for a breathe of fresh air.... this must be done routinely and on a regular basis or the all seeing one will become suspicious.
Trips can then be made to retrieve small items ( previously concealed under a hedge or similar ) that can easily be hidden under the childs duvet and smuggled in .... larger items.. such as Eteks.. take up a lot of room and it may mean a temporary swap ...Etek in .....child out.

Was gonna start a new thread for this when I actually got round to asking it but since this thread is here, I may as well ask now

Will a pair of Electronize 30A with the external relay mods be able to control two Bosch 400s run at 12V in a featherweight driving wheels through friction-drive on a ratio of 7.12:1 without regularly damaging either the relays or the speedos?

                          Hi Woody / pete
My latest creation ( see pic on profile) uses bosche 400w....i have coupled them to standard parvalux gearboxes at 16:1 gear ratio attached to 10 kart wheels...acordin to my robo gurus this should give me approx 11.5 MPH....plenty enuff for us old farts with bad drivin reaction times..
I have also built a 576:1 gearbox coupled to bosche 400w to use as a lifing device...fingers crossed ...it should do the job...

                          Cheers Tony (aka Froggy)

Oh and if the answer to my question above is No, they will blow up regularly then...

                            Woody,
Can you tell me the lottery numbers for this coming Saturday so I can afford to go and buy some nice speedos (of the non-swimwear variety)

Mario, regarding Bleep 1: you do know we dont have space in the house for more machines without chucking out important furniture, like the bed, the kitchen stove of your computer. Bleep 2: I also want to keep that garden of mine. Intact. With the grass, the flowers and the cat-mint. And as for bleep 3: no, the house front stays as it is.

Why bother Guru Woody with such mundane problems ?
