If you go to http://www.eurobots.orgwww.eurobots.org you can find details of a contest for autonomous robots (sorting cans, bottles and batteries)which will have its semi finals in the UK (and quite a few other countries) and finals in France in May, 2007. This is quite unlike what we do with fighting robots (interference with the opponent is prohibited, as is any form of remote control) but perhaps it is of interest to someone. It looks challenging. You need to be 30 or under to enter (although you can have an advisor who is older).
