Having changed the gear ratio in Storm II, we have 2 Heavyweight gearboxes for sale manufactured by Mike Lambert from Dantomkia (they are very very well made). They are a solid (closed) aluminium shell with the gears fully contained inside and a recessed pocket for the front face of the Magmotor to slot into. Easily taken apart with 6 socket cap screws.
Designed for the S28-400 Magmotor/Ampflow motor, and with an 8:1 gear ratio, so on a 6" wheel at 24v that's 11mph - perfect heavyweight territory. Output is a 120mm (ish) long 20mm diameter keyed shaft. The gearboxes themselves are circa 135mm x 60mm x 130mm in size and have mounting mounts that key around 25mm square box section and just bolt on.
Cost new over £1000 for them, no expense spared in manufacture, looking for offers over £300 which is less than what the custom EN24T gears cost alone - just want to see someone using these great gearboxes !
