...By my reckoning you still need a transmitter for ANY robot, regardless of its drive. That is unless it's Autonomous?

no you can get a transmiter for it XD or it comes with one if u pay a bit more

Fair play, but surely that would be a matter of pricing as supposed to It has motors, therefor its inexplicably better than anything else?

Anyway, this looks like a nice kit for beginners, all the parts you need are there.
