The best function that is has is a Charge/Discharge cycle function where it will automatically cycle your batteries through 3 charges/discharge cycles itself to allow you to condition your batteries - we regularly used this with Storm II's NiCad packs.
The software in the charger is currently at version 7.16, they can be upgraded to the latest version of the software which will enable them to charge A123's.
They're fantastic pieces of kit, exceptionally good chargers - there are very few chargers out there that will charge 36v packs.
