Previous winner never turned up to pay or collect! Why do that? Dreamer I guess.

So here is R2 again. A r/c R2 with a starting price of £250 and a lowered buy it now of £650. Auction finishes Sunday 19th Dec at 8pm.

The winner (space_one) didn't call for days. Finally he did call on a Tuesday and said he would pick it up that weekend. I never heard from him again. I gave him loads of time, texted him, mailed him - nothing. Apparently this happens a lot on eBay.

It did get 4 bids last time up, and it went up to £405. It had 43 watchers and 1,234 page views. Problem was the auction finished on a Tuesday lunch time. This time it finishes just right on a Sunday night :-)

So we'll see if it goes this time.

Meanwhile if someone wants to make me a decent offer....

to get around that it's best to get the winner to place a deposit of 20% via paypal with the rest being handed over on collection

I think the last guy just wouldn't have even done that. Communication just went dead. But thanks for the tip.

Also I've heard of a PayPal scam in which they pay using PayPal, collect the goods, then cancel the PayPal.

Anyway it cost me less than £2. That is all I lost. And a bit of time. But I'm in no rush to sell him. I'll just keep trying. I suppose I could have done 2nd chance too for the next bidder down. I'll do that next time.
