  • Relic (F Bomb) for sale

After a lot of teeth gnashing and thought, Team Moon Robotics has decided to sell Relic. Basically, it comes down to us wanting to focus more on our big bots and Relic/F-Bomb being pretty much a perfected machine that needs someone to run it and fight with it.

What we are offering is a nearly turn-key robot. You get the Robot, with batteries, transmitter, receiver, tons of spare parts and a shipping crate. I'm asking $3000 or best offer. Serious offers only. E-mail me at bgmoon AT team-moon DOT com. Purchaser will be responsible for actual shipping costs or I can deliver the robot at the upcoming BBots event or RoboGames.

BTW 8-0 (8 wins no loses for those not in the know) is bull

Ady the Americans are the only ones who compile there fight results from all competitions, that way they track who is top of their league as we dont do that they call themselves world number one, but if we compile our results Beauty would proberbly top the lot

The robots not worth that much, although the cnc machining is!
they used the cnc mill for everything, even just for drilling a few holes

The only expensive bit is the mag really, which has no gearing etc, just a wheel onto the disc so thats pretty cheap. Drive motors are ok, nothing super. Its built extreamly heavy from the pictures aswell.
It would cost you less to built a far lighter, more powerfull version from scratch

Hmm, need a new robot for my dad
                Hmm, $3000
Hmm, tempted to build an el-cheapo replica from drills, a Speed 900 and Electronizes for as little as possible

Wonder how much of a price difference versus effectiveness it would have with F-Bomb/Relic

Re: Relic (F Bomb) for sale

Well you can make a seriously good set up fairly cheap.

Scorpion 4035 brushless motor (3.7Kw) you can get for £115
ESC to go with it for about £150 (total set-up cheaper than a mag, and can be done even cheaper)

Bosch 35's/drills for about £30 max, speedo to power them also about £30.
10-12 cell lipos can be abtained for as little as £150.
If you want a seperate battery for drive, a small 12 equivilent lipo to last a fight or two and weighing only about 70g, will be about £30 for a really good one.

Wheels, £10-12 with drill motor inserts from us of course

                  Spektrum reciever roughly £45

Thats only just over £550 for everything excluding material for a more powerfull FAR FAR lighter set-up.

Also, thats with brand new components, that mag, and those batteries and motors etc have been through a fair bit of full combat and likely to be on their way out soon enough.

If you wanted the absolubte best, then replace the drive for small astros and vantec, which will be about £250 or so more.

Re: Relic (F Bomb) for sale

i did wonder how it was ranked number 2 in the world , again nice looking machine and sure alot of work went into it, but $3000 sounds way over priced.

oh and just watched the video it looked a bit pants tbh, i think any of the uk spinners would beat it.

Re: Relic (F Bomb) for sale

Its got such a crap spin up as the batteries are crap. Those things won't be near able to pump out the current the mag needs.

$3000? Lol Ill give you $150 for the magmotor and you can keep the rest.

O and 2nd in the world? Bring it over here and we'll see who builds the best featherweight spinners
