  • Favorite Comedians

Since we have a favourite singers/bands thread, I thought that we could talk about the men/women who make us cry with laughter, make us fall over ourselves with joy and generally make us happy.

Im going to start by saying that my favourite comedian is the great, wonderful, unbelievable Paul Merton, with his lightening fast brain and dead-pan expression. Comment to this thread if you agree/disagree with me, and SAY WHO MAKES YOU LAUGH THE MOST!

I find comedians have to be extremely witty to get me to properly laugh and enjoy myself therefore I dont have many favourites but one that has recently come to my attention is the brilliant Jeff Dunham, an American ventriloquist. He is amazing at what he does, hardly any lip movement is noticed and he comes up with hilarious coversations between him and his puppets.

Frankie Boyle is good, very good indeed.

There are so many good comedians out there, it would be impossible for me to choose. I really like Herman Finkers for example, but I dont think he is any better or worse than Theo Maassen. Same in the US, I admired George Carlin a lot (may he rest in peace), but I also like Carlos Mencia or Jeff Dunham.

In the UK there are also a lot of very funny comedians, Rowan Atkinson as Blackadder for example (I think Blackadder is funnier than Mr. Bean, again personal taste). But no funnier or less funny than Smith & Jones or Monthy Python.

I do enjoy shows like Have I got news for you and Mock the week a lot. The funniest Have I got news for you I thought was the one with Brian Blessed. I thought Id die of laughter before the show was over.
