Obviously, the War of Independence will feature robots from the American version of Robot Wars (well, obviously!). Although I will be using some robots who have been seen on UK television (via the World Championships), not all of them make that cut. However, the creator of one of those robots has posted some of the battles from Robot Wars Extreme Warriors, as well as Nickelodeon Robot Wars, that his robot/s competed in. The American robots, therefore, will either be robots shown in these videos or Americans who did show in the UK wars for a while. The videos youll want will be the first, third and sixth videos.
I must note, however, that although the line-up will be up after the UK bracket has finished, the US bracket will not be done until the second annihilator has been posted.
Both robots looked fairly promising in their first round heats. Only one can go through to the final though.
ROBOTEERS, STAND BY!
Booth 1: Kat 3
Booth 2: Spawn Again
House Robots: Dead Metal, Shunt
3...2...1...ACTIVATE!
And into the semi-finals for the UK bracket. Kat 3 immediately comes forward and slams the axe down, but misses hitting Spawn Again by a narrow margin. Spawn Again dodges and dances around the side of Kat 3, trying to get underneath. Both robots turn and twist...and turn again. A very active battle so far. Wheres Spawn Again going now? To the bottom left part of the arena? Thats where Dead Metal is though. Spawn Again wisely thinks twice and turns away. Kat 3 has followed...and now Spawn Again is underneath Kat 3 AND FLIPS IT OVER!! Were they luring the Kat 3 machine on, I wonder? Seems like it. Because Kat 3 is now on its side. It fires the axe, trying to self-right, but Spawn Again gets underneath and flips it upwards! Kat 3 is still in trouble. It does have trouble self-righting sometimes. Spawn Again appears to be preventing it from getting up, as it drives Kat 3 towards the arena wall, fires the flipper AND TOSSES THE KAT OUT! How many lives did that cat have? One...and its over!
CEASE!
Kat 3 better go back to hunting mice.
SPAWN AGAIN GOES THROUGH TO THE FINAL.
Who will join them? 259 or Pussycat? 259 have the machine repaired...hopefully.
PUSSYCAT vs 259
ROBOTEERS, STAND BY!
Booth 1: 259
Booth 2: Pussycat
House Robots: Matilda, Sir Killalot
3...2...1...ACTIVATE!
Pussycat does NOT want to be caught by that flywheel. Its an easy robot to fling around the arena, as 259 advances...but a good little dodge and away by Pussycat. Are they trying to lure 259 on the same way Spawn Again did? Im not too sure. Pussycat trying to dance around 259. However, the three digit number machine turns to face Pussycat, lunges forward, Pussycat dodges out of the way. It tries to make an onslaught, but again, 259 cuts the charge by charging itself. Another dodge from Pussycat. Im not entirely sure what Pussycat is trying to achieve here. Its dancing around 259, the two are making mock charges at each other but no further...ah, now Pussycat tries a charge in reverse! Interesting, if a little stupid. 259 again cuts them off, Pussycat makes a quick veer away...OH, WHAT WAS THAT!? ILL TELL YOU WHAT IT WAS...CUNNING! Lets see that again! Pussycat drives out of the way, to the side of 259. 259 turned and...NOW! Pussycat did its own turn and hit 259 on the side of the skirts. No damage apparant though, but Pussycat races away, waiting for 259 to follow. 259 spins around...its a threatening sight, thats for sure. 259 nows spins the other way. And back again. And back the other way again. And...oh, you get the idea now! I dont think that Adam Clark has full control over 259 anymore. Hes trying to work the controls, but I think youll find hes lost the ability to go left and thus drive in a straight line. Did a chain come off when Pussycat hit the skirts, or is one of those skirts now blocking the wheel? Either way, its another highly disapointing end for the 259 machine. Refbot, standing well back from the flywheel, begins the count. 259 can just look in defeat. Refbot reaches 10 and Matilda comes in for her own dirty work...FLYWHEELS COLLIDE!! And 259 came off worse! The flywheels belt has come off, and one of the supports seems to be broken now. Pussycat watches nearby, as Killalot comes in, picks up 259 and...where shall we take this machine...OK, out of the arena. Dump it there. Bye bye 259.
CEASE
259...the number of defeat.
PUSSYCAT GOES THROUGH TO THE FINAL AS WELL.
WAR OF INDEPENDENCE UK BRACKET FINAL
Spawn Again vs Pussycat
And so, the final for the UK bracket. This is a grudge match. The two have fought each other twice before, with different results.
They first met in Series 3, with Pussycat fighting the Spawn teams first robot Scutters Revenge. They actually beat the Scutter machine, but were disqualified after using an illegal blade.
They then met in Robot Wars Extreme, in the Tag Team Terror. Despite a rocky start, Pussycat (with the help of Diotoir) defeated Spawn Again (and Comengetorix) when the new Spawn machine broke down.
Now they meet here. This should be interesting.
ROBOTEERS, STAND BY.
Booth 1: Pussycat
Booth 2: Spawn Again
House Robots: Dead Metal, Mr Psycho
3...2...1...ACTIVATE!!
And were off. Spawn Again charges forward, as we know they will. Pussycat dodges away, trying, once more, to get around the side of Spawn Again. Spawn Again gives chase. It is faster than Pussycat, has generally been more consistant in how far it gets in the UK wars, even if Pussycat has gotten further. The two meet, and Spawn Again throws Pussycat through the air. Pussycat turns and tries to get the blade underneath the flipper, but only manages to nick the flipper plate. No real damage. Pussycat rushes off, Spawn Agains flipper can be deadly. Pussycat appears to be trying to lure it towards Mr Psycho. Spawn Again isnt that dumb, so Pussycat zooms forward again. Spawn Again fires the flipper, but Pussycat had already slid off...OH, WHAT WAS THAT!? Was that the...YES, SPAWN AGAINS FLIPPER VALVE HAS EXPLOED, YET AGAIN!! It mis-timed the flip, with disasterous consequences! Now Spawn Again has no weapon. Pussycat can attack now...or can it, as Spawn Again hits the pit release button. Is it trying to push Pussycat into the pit? Perhaps lure it in? Pussycat hits Spawn Again from behind. Spawn Again turns...but the valve is hanging out of the flipper and preventing it from closing properly, and even with Pussycats 10 centimetre ground clearance, its not low enough to get underneath. Now what is Spawn Again going to do?...HA HA HA! Theres your answer. Drive straight into the pit! They cant win, so they just give up. Oh well.
CEASE!!
Spawn Again is splattered.
PUSSYCAT IS THE WINNER OF THE WAR OF INDEPENDENCE U.K BRACKET!!
But, of course, Pussycat isnt out of the woods yet. It will still have to fight the winner of the American bracket later on. Before that though, the second annihilator.

Remember to check the link from earlier if youre unfamiliar with the robots.
Call it Pre-Planning. I often think fights through several times before writing them, before thinking up the most likely occurance. And I am liable to change my mind.
After a long, long, looong pause, heres the second annihilator at last. I need to get inspired.
FROM NORTHAMPTONSHIRE; EWE 2
Previously entering with a robot called Lambsy, which has had limited success, Ewe 2 is a total ram in the pen. Its a rather compact robot, agile as well, it can push and has a nasty flipper just right for flipping robots over. It has a weakness though, in that there is no armour underneath it.
FROM NORTHAMPTONSHIRE; KAN OPENER
This robot has arguably the wierdest win-lose battle history of any robot. It has competed in three UK wars and lost all of them in the first round, yet it has also competed in two annihilators and won them both! Rather suspicious if you ask me. Kan Opener is another low-slung robot, bright yellow, invertible and boosting a pair of crushing jaws that have interchangable tips and more bite than a Great White. The ground clearance is low, which is good, but the armour I think could be thicker.
FROM CARDIFF: PANIC ATTACK
The winners of the second series of the wars, some would say Panic Attack is becoming old. Those more in the know would say it is still as persistant as ever. A low yellow box, Panic Attack is covered in real tough armour, difficult to puncture, skirts all around make it difficult to flip, and a set of powerful lifting spikes make it difficult to approach. All in all, a tough cookie, except that it has no srimech, and can be toppled.
FROM EAST TILBURY IN ESSEX; SPAWN AGAIN
No robot is faster than Spawn Again, even if they wanted to. This high wedge shape robot doesnt take any competitors lying down, it has a massive flipper that not only flips long, but high. In fact, it could probably go down as one of the largest flippers in the competition. It has a high success rate as well, being a semi finalist on four occasions. However, Spawn Again is well known for its reliability problems, so it may not be long until it dies...again.
FROM COLCHESTER IN ESSEX; THE STEEL AVENGER
A gleaming steel avenger is always a worry. This machine is well engineered and has always done decently well over the years. Covered in steel and polycarbonate, it boosts two weapons: A nasty and large axe and a rear flipper for surprise attacks. It has a srimech, but this can easily be damaged and has let it down in the past.
FROM EDINBURGH IN SCOTLAND; TYPHOON 2
THE ultimate robot, this machine won the 7th wars. Two lighter versions of this also won the middleweight (3 times) and lightweight championship, so success is nothing new for this machine. This robot could easily be described as a lampshade...except this lampshade has cutting teeth anc can spin at gyroscopic speeds. The robot itself is essentially top-secret military information, which oppodents fear more. Get a quick flip in though, and it could be over, the lampshade has no srimech!
ROBOTEERS, STAND BY!
Booth 1: Ewe 2, Panic Attack, Steel Avenger.
Booth 2: Kan Opener, Spawn Again, Typhoon 2.
House Robots: Sir Killalot, Matilda.
3...2...1...ACTIVATE!!
And off goes the second annihilator, and what a way to start it, with the twice Annihilator champion Kan Opener, coming down to have a go at Steel Avenger, who hits the champion, but gets pinched for its troubles. Spawn Again is chasing after Typhoon 2, who is running away. It isnt spinning up to full speed as of yet. Panic Attack and Ewe 2 clash, and its Panic Attack getting underneath Ewe 2 first. Kan Opener slams Steel Avenger onto Panic Attack, who gets hit by the Avengers axe, and Ewe 2 escapes. Spawn Again is still chasing after Typhoon 2, who IS now spinning at its gyroscopic speed. Spawn Again, Id back away quickly...OH NO!! Typhoon hit Spawn Again with a full on frontal slam, and the flipper blade of Spawn Again has broken off completely! Spawn Again, to put it simply, are now weaponless. Spawn Again retreats. Kan Opener, meanwhile, has discarded Steel Avenger and is trying to attack Ewe 2. Ewe 2 fires its flipper and flips Kan Opener over, but of course, Kan Opener is invertible. Panic Attack comes in on the annihilator champion...OH, WHAT WAS THAT!? THAT WAS TYPHOON 2!! SLAMMING INTO THE BACK OF PANIC ATTACK, AND TEARING THE REAR SKIRT CLEAN OFF!! Now THAT could be a problem!! When Typhoon reaches that speed, problems will occur. Steel Avenger rushes off, but Ewe 2 doesnt...OH, SHARDS OF METAL GO FLYING!! Panels have come flying off Ewe 2 there. That could cause some problems for later. Meanwhile, Steel Avenger is hitting Panic Attack with its axe...wheres Spawn Again in all of this? THERE is your answer, slammed into the pit release by Kan Opener. Spawn Again moves away, but it isnt moving freely at all. Typhoon comes in with ANOTHER hit, and knocks Spawn Again senseless!! Ewe 2 also comes in, but travels right into the claws of Kan Opener, which close. Ewe 2 is dragged towards the pit...BUT TYPHOON GETS ANOTHER HIT IN!! MORE SHARDS FLY OFF!! Some from Ewe 2, some from Kan Opener. Kan Openers claws open and try to get away. Forget about Ewe 2 for now. It NEEDS to get away from Typhoon 2, THATS the worry. Meanwhile, this leaves Ewe 2 and Spawn Again both on the edge of the pi and both apparantly immobile! That bashing from the Series 7 champion has obviously done something serious. Neither are moving. Who was immobilised first? Refbot is coming in to count them out, but who is he counting? Im not sure. 4...5...6...7...OH, SPAWN AGAIN SUDDENLY SPRINGS INTO LIFE!! In reverse, it slams Ewe 2 into the pit and follows through! That last spasm of energy has barely saved it.
CEASE
Ewe 2 has been shawn and annihilated.
NEXT TIME
Kan Opener vs Panic Attack vs Spawn Again vs Steel Avenger vs Typhoon 2.
Provided, of course, that Spawn Again are fit to fight.
