  • The All Out Robot Rebellion

Guess whos back at the writers desk for the first time in practically a year!

Ok, heres how it works, vapourbots, real robots, and house robots are going to be competing here.

I need 8 people to enter a team of three robots (1 vapourbot, 1 real robot, 1 house robot). First come first serve basis, the real robots can be from any Robot Wars Series, but the House Robots have to be from the latest series (Series 7). Any stats are acceptable for vapourbots, but they must be as realistic as possible, no sheer magic stuff.

I would like to get this tournament quickly going as soon as possible, so get those entries in soon!

    ROUND 1:
8 x 3-way melees -- Vapourbot vs. Real Robot vs. House Robot in each melee. 1 robot survives in each melee to move on to round 2.

    ROUND 2:
4 x 1-on-1 battles -- 8 machines will be going into this round, only 4 will survive.

    ROUND 3:
    2 x 1-on-1 battles -- Semi-Finals, basically.

    ROUND 4:
    Third place playoff and final.

        The All Out Robot Rebellion

        Vapour: Wedga Revo (Version 2.0)
        Real: Storm II
        House Robot: Shunt

        Wedga Revo (Version 2.0)

Shape: A cut off wedge like Steg 2, instead of the wedged front these is now a scoop that the lifting arm rests inside in its normal position. The sides and back are all slightly slanted to deflect spinners.
        Dimensions: 800mm x 700mm x 150mm (Length x Width x Height)
Motivation: Driving Wedga Revo are six Aluminum hubs with a layer of Vullkolan bonded on for extra grip on the arena surface, these are 140mm in diameter and 50mm in width.
Drive: Driving the wheels are two LEM130 Lynch Motors run on 48v from a 3300mAh NiCad botpack. This gives approximately 18hp that should out push quite a few robots and makes a great combination with the front scoop. The robot is under the control of a Vantec speed controller meaning the power is all controlled and put to good use.
Speed: Wedga Revo can reach a top speed of about 15mph so it€™s nice and controlled and has a decent acceleration to top speed.
Turning Circle: Wedga Revo uses a skid steering system like Tornado so that it can turn on the spot but maybe not as well as two wheel drive robots.
Ground Clearance: There is around 10mm of clearance all around the robot minus the front scoop that rests along the ground so it can get under virtually anything, the sides and back are skirted and rest together at the corners giving it 0mm clearance all the way around the robot.
Skirts: The skirts are made of 5mm thick Grade 5 Titanium and are hinged to the sides and back of the robot by a rotary joint, the skirts all meet at the corners meaning it is very hard to get under the robot from any angle.
Armour: The baseplate is constructed of 5mm thick Aluminum, that should protect the bottom if for any reason another robot manages to flip and attack the bottom. The front scoop is made of 3.2mm thick Hardox that is very hard to bend of shatter if not impossible. This is used for deflecting spinner attacks and general scooping up and pushing around. The top, sides and back are all made of 6mm thick Grade 5 Titanium that are all bolted onto the 50mm Hardox box section chassis.
Weapons: The main weapon is a flipping arm that is hinged at the rear of the robot and rests down the wedge and inside the front scoop so if a spinner hits the front scoop the arm should not be damaged. The flipping arm is 100mm wide and is made of Grade 5 Titanium and is shaped like the scoop at the front so it can flip any robots on the front scoop easily. It is powered by a big 80mm bore 100mm stroke custom-made Aluminum ram. This is pumped with CO2 gas at a pressure of 150psi contained in two 2.2kg canisters and a 1.1kg buffer tank giving around 35 flips in a fight. This should mean the flipper can produce around 540kgs of force each flip that should send other robots flying! This set up can comfortably flip 400kg so any heavyweight class robot should not be too much of a problem. The front scoop/rear skirt and drive train are also a great way of ramming robots around the arena and can work well with the flipper for flipping robots out of the arena.
Self-Righting Mechanism: The flipper can self-right the robot with ease with stylish jumps off the ground.
Notes: An almost unchanged version, just with a modified bodywork.

If Chris goes for it, then team up with him to flip that Psycho over. With us working as a team, and my three 750 psi pistons we should get him over. Then, I should be lower than Bulldog Breed as well so just get under him and flip him oota.

Dead Metal could probably get Killotine in its grasp, so just take him and shove him everywhere while cutting him up. Dont let go. If he eventually dies, then do the same for Spawn Again.

Tough as Nails could probably grasp around Sgt. Bash, and crunch him to dead. (SGT. has horrible armor) and pit him or something. Then turn on Die Cera whatever, and if I can, grab him too and go for a pit. Though, I might change my strategy if I can get some STATS.

                              DIE-CERATOPS RE-INVERTUS

                              Weight; 100 kilos
                              Body Shape: Wheely Big Cheese
                              Speed; 15mph
                              TC; 0
GC; 0mm at front, 3mm at sides and back.
Wheels; 2 inner, sticking out only slightly,
                              Armour; 8mm titanium
Power; 3x 12v batteries, powered by a couple of Magmotors
Colour; Green, with Killer Carrot style wrinkles, mouth and eyes. One of the eyes has a plaster over it, the other is a black eye. A few bandages are painted on this time.
Weapons: A huge Wheely Big Cheese style flipper, capable of flipping a tonne or so.
Srimech; As the name suggests, the robot runs inverted. Bars prevent side strandings, and the back is rounded, so stranding THAT way is outta the question. The flipper works upside down.
Inspiration; Ive always liked Dinosaurs. This is a pun of Triceratops. The Invertus part is pretty obvious.
Strengths; The ability to work upside down and still be able to use its weapon, now easier to control.
                              Weaknessess: Tengu VI

                              BIO
Orkas cute-on-one-side-pure-hell-on-tuther friend, Die-Ceratops is equally as powerful and as nippy as his buddy. In the arena, he can get to oppodents/victims in record time. Then, once his flipper is underneath them, they can kiss the ground good-bye. Of course, hes teamed with me, and I can be rather protective over him...

                              Anyways...

                              DIE-CERATOPS REINVERTUS TACTICS
Sgt Bash MAY last 10 seconds. I think my traction is superior to TAN, in which case I can drag it where I want, FOOTA it, or do a Storm 2 and pit it whilst its still holding on, so it has nowhere to go. THINK. If its not superior, then things get a tad more interesting.

                              BULLDOG BREEDS TACTICS
Somehow I dont think the big guys gonna be too happy over what I did to Growler, and CT2 doesnt look like itll go easy either. Just flip and hope for the best.

                              SIR KILLALOTS TACTICS
Chaos 2 has not been able to flip Sir K (indeed, Sir K is the only house bot not to have been flipped over*, so thats a bonus in itself), so try and lure it on and get the lance under its open flipper. Deal with Cyberdemon when I come to it.

*Please do note, I said flipped. As in with a flipper. Toppling (which hes done at least once before) is another matter.
