Welcome to the Fowler Fic War Series 3, Qualifying Battle 7, where today, we€™ve cut formal intros in the aim of speeding my writing up

Flank Attack 2: DT v Shotgun Slapper v Battle Raptor 4 v The Raven

We€™ve got an uber-powerful Tough As Nails clone, a bizarre creations designed to push and flip and rip into things at the same time, a dinosaur with a vicious flipper and a crushing robot designed to rip the others to shreds.

For once, we have four aggressive machines, all of which don€™t have spinners which require a great deal of time to spin up, so immediately all 4 crash into the centre to try and make their impression on the battle. There€™s a clear winner and loser in this opening exchange as Battle Raptor 4 slides up the fractionally lower wedge of The Raven and is immediately the first to fell its bite, as it clamps on to and dents, without piercing, the 4mm Hardox, before proceeding to drag him around the arena.

Shotgun Slapper seems to have decided therefore, that he will go after Flank Attack 2: DT and immediately charges in with his 2 discs. Flank Attack is surprisingly manouvreable and quick for his shape though and charges away to get embroiled in the other fight. Battle Raptor 4 has finally been released by The Raven, and has moved away across the arena, to stay safe. Flank Attack has therefore decided to make a move on The Raven and grabs around the side/back corner. The arms close and tear straight into the 5mm Titanium/Vanadium alloy, suggesting that those claws are a lot stronger than his counterpart, Tough As Nails.

Shotgun Slapper has decided he€™s got to get some aggression points in one way or another and has now gone after Battle Raptor 4, flying in at his side skirts. Due to the angle, the impact causes sparks and scratches but nothing more, and Battle Raptor 4 isn€™t best pleased, exacting his revenge by turning, slipping under the slightly raised sides of Shotgun Slapper and throwing him over onto his invertible lid. Shotgun Slapper is a bit dazed from this attack and chooses to take advantage of this, driving underneath the sides again, and charging him into the fence, throwing him into the air. As it is, the walls are still fractionally too high and he can€™t get him over the fence, but it raises Tony€™s blood pressure to know how close he is to going out.

The Raven and Flank Attack however are having an interesting battle of their own, as Steve, not best pleased after seeing his robots rear end visibly crumpled, starts going for Alex€™s machine. Alex isn€™t having the score evened though and is traversing around the sides of The Raven, avoiding the front, and possibly trying to get another attack of his own in. Surprisingly, it turns out to be the latter that happens first, and in almost the same spot on the opposite side, Flank Attack close the pincers. This time, they don€™t manage to crumple the shell, merely dent and get a hold, from where the Tough As Nails clone begins to drag his foe across the arena, looking for peril.

Unlike the other fight, which is being clearly dominated by Flank Attack, the mini-battle between Shotgun Slapper and Battle Raptor 4 is perfectly even, in the shape of who€™s getting more attacks in. Tony€™s still struggling to find somewhere he can hit and actually have it have the desired effect of either doing some genuinely visible damage or throwing him over onto his lid. Battle Raptor 4€™s attacks however seem do be doing exactly what they€™re designed to do however, and are repeatedly throwing Tony€™s machine onto his back and his front and his back again. Tony realises that he may be fighting a losing battle against Battle Raptor 4, and in order to save his blushes moves into the other mini-battle between Flank Attack 2.

What he doesn€™t bargain for, Shotgun Slapper that is, is that Battle Raptor 4 will not want to be left out of the fight, and so he flies across the arena, catches up with the cowardly Shotgun Slapper and tosses him once again onto his back. The Raven is still attached to the claws of Flank Attack, and he seems to be showing no signs of letting go. The Raven€™s wheels are obviously spinning, but he can get no movement from them. Battle Raptor 4 decides to flip the double mass of The Raven and Flank Attack 2 over, and this forces Alex to release Steve€™s machine, as otherwise he couldn€™t move either. The Raven drops to the floor, with one side mashed and the other side merely dented, and seems extremely dazed as he turns around.

Shotgun Slapper has now recovered from his altercation with Battle Raptor 4 and has now turned his attentions to Flank Attack 2. Unlike The Raven, who couldn€™t get an attack in on him at all, Shotgun Slapper and Tony succeed first time and manage to give him a good smack right on the wheel. It sends him over onto his back in a spin, before he just accelerates back off after The Raven. Battle Raptor 4 too, seems to have decided that The Raven is the best bet to eliminate and so charges underneath the side form across the arena and flips him into the wall with a crunch. In the time it takes for him to move away, Flank Attack 2 is back with him and has begun to pierce the side panel again. This time it goes straight through and splits with a squeak.

Shotgun Slapper comes over to survey the damage and goes in for a sneaky attack on the back of Battle Raptor 4, and somehow manages to hit the skirt and cause some damage, busting a hole straight through the skirt. Flank Attack 2 meanwhile releases The Raven
and backs away. Steve€™s machine is now hobbling in circles, and it€™s presumed that the last attack has damaged his wheel. Sensing an opportunity to get some damage points, Shotgun Slapper comes into the other working side of The Raven and slams in with the discs. He flips it over in a shower of sparks, failing to do any real damage, but it seems to have worked nonetheless as The Raven€™s srimech fails to work and he just lies on his lid, seemingly dead.

Tony€™s reveling in his first real victory of the fight, but isn€™t gloating for long, as he sees both Battle Raptor 4 and Flank Attack coming towards him head-on. Dodging the 2, he manages to miss Flank Attack 2, but in almost a case of deja-vu ends up back on the flipper of Battle Raptor 4, who this time, as opposed to flipping him, fires the electric powered axe onto the lid, trying to split the top panel of Shotgun Slapper. It fails to go right in, but digs in, and acts as a pin for Rich to drag Tony€™s machine right across the arena.

Flank Attack 2 decides to stuff loyalty though and flies in at the back of Battle Raptor 4, now attacking him with the jaws, and bursting through the skirt, producing more holes around where Shotgun Slapper had attacked him with the disc. This doesn€™t bother Battle Raptor 4 however, who carries on his merry way, waiting, and knowing full well that the pit is due to be released shortly. He lets go briefly, but only to slam down again on the lid again, this time digging in slightly further than before. Sure enough, as expected the pit descends and, with Flank Attack 2 as an escort, Battle Raptor 4 guides him towards the pit, letting go of Shotgun Slapper with the axe and sliding him off the flipper. Tony tries a latch ditch escape, but his fate is inevitable and he finds himself being nudged into the pit, falling to his death, before the pit has even finished opening.

I dunno what Steve was Raven about, and Shotgun Slapper seemed to be a bit of a tart really. Battle Raptor 4 and the immensely impressive Flack Attack 2: DT go through.

Artemis VS Drilla Killa 7 VS Slam Job VS TAILS

First off, go after Slam Job with the spinny blade, keeping to the sides and rear to avoid getting clamped by the axe. Repeat until dead, or flip it onto its back and then smash it around a bit.
After that, Im not too sure. Maybe dash around under the rear inverted wedge on Drilla Killa 7 and attempt to Pit. Failing that, drive around backwards and slash up whatever comes into my path

And by the way, very excellent fight Matty. Had me on the edge of my seat hoping that no comeback destroys me. When Shotgun Slapper hit my wheel I was cringing, hoping it wouldnt be the end. =P

Ill have to agree with Willow on this, Flank Attack 2: DT is a great design Alex. It takes all the bad points out of GigaByte and corrects them.

The next battle is a tough one, but Ill pick Tails to go through with Drilla Killa 7. Great battles so far!

Whoa, almost forgot that Slam Job is my robot. Well, I guess if Steve wants to go for me, Ill bring the fight to him! Get under and smack him around with the axe. Im not sure what SJs armor is, but Im sure it is pretty good (Since, you know, Tails weapon is nowhere like Nightmares =X)

Drilla Killa 7 will attack Slam Job first, keeping at the sides and shoving while using the drills as usual, before trying to pit him. Then Ill just use similar tactics on whoevers nearest.
