If anyone who still is out there who hasnt entered please come and enter.

This style is a breath of fresh air that need people to think about the design, without the worry of going over the weight limit. This kind is more about the driving than the robots, like someone said:
it takes not only a good bot to win, but also a good driver... This is where the RPs come in

Of course, Im wasting a post because all you upper-class lot who spend days on a design, rendering it to over-kill, and giving it stats to kill everything wont be bother of going back to the older days on the british forums. The american system works, without people moaning about that robot is overweight etc, because as long as the points equal 22 or below, no-body is going to moan at your robot.

        Just think about it.

If it were here, i wouldnt mind so much. The only thing is, i know that i might not be able to constantly roleplay, i already have three other places in which i do so as well as uni work to think about.

Once a week if your lucky and have a fight on that weeks fightcard isnt all the time. Even them, you will be unlucky to get all 4 on the same card.

Compared to some tournies here, which ask for tactics about 3 times in a week if its your heat.

I swear your being sponsored by America Dave, and as I have poitned out to you each time you try this my problem is lack of scope for originality in comparrison. However if I manage to get sufficient tiem to put together an entry I will do so. However atm I have art exams, DT and English Courswework deadlines and young enterprise and engineering in education work this week Im a little pressed to do much mroe than read things.

Geez, Dave, I dont mind the US stats much at all, but why dont you just fish out the Uncle Sam outfit and change your name to Jim-Bob already?

...and what about those of us who appreciate and support ALL sorts of tournament types, as long as theyre actually enjoyable?

Everyone knows those people are losers

But yeah, ARC tournaments are great because I use them to bring out designs that probably wouldnt be suitable for over here (i.e., overweight).

Might as well play the PC Mech Warrior games instead then if your enjoying overweightness and points based systems....

I also dont see any difference between Tactics used on these forums and RP used on the ARC forums. Both of them explain on how your going to exploit your opponents weakness and where your going to try to attack.

Easy way to settle this, spend £20 and buy Robot Arena 2 and play online, you get a lot more fun out of it.

                      *vanishes once again*

Ive mentioned problems with this before, and here they are again:

Several real robots such as Storm 2 wouldnt be possible with this system. To make Storm 2, youd need to add a shed load of points to armour, lots to speed and a lot to torque thanks to the traction that thing generates. There just arent enough points to make Storm 2 IMHO.

FBSs. Their weapon and armour are practically the same thing. I mean, theres only so much you can do by bunging some motors and gearboxes in there, most of the power generated by those things is determined by whats used to make the spinning shell/ring.

Its too easy for different competitors to be alike. At least in Brittish tournies you can change what drives your robot, if you use Ti or Hardox for armour, etc.

Different shapes would have different rules so to speak. Compact robots like Storm 2 can have thicker armour because it covers less surface area. More spindly robots like Stinger can have thicker armour because the armoured parts are smaller.

Also, calling it advanced robot combat when its simpler than the Brittish way of doing it is kinda funny

                        Oh, and Dave:

                        quote:

You werent around during those older days. They were pretty much the same as they are now, except everything was a lot gentler weaponed, and not as bricky.

I was on about on the older days on the 2nd Panic Attack Forum before suddenlaunch.

Which I believe Im the only person left semi-active from those days

The current Brittish way predates the PA forum way.

                              I know Frank.

Besides why are you fighting for it, because you are retired so the different stats dont affect you.
