"Dissidents?" Mira asked nobody in particular. If they had done something wrong, why they not remember it? At the same time, Mira was faintly aware of some sort of siren in the distance. The group should probably try finding a way our fairly soon, unless they actually -wanted- to be killed. That wasn't something they liked the sound of, personally. Raising an arm slightly, they attempted to calm the others in the cell before addressing the voice once more.
"My name is Mira," they again stated, "I'm an Illuxion. I've been travelling all over the galaxy, going from planet to planet to see what life is like on other worlds, and what might be learned from them when I go back home." They paused, hoping that nobody else would try anything too forceful. Another moment of flickering. "May I ask why the five of us are here?"Last edited by NFX; 19 July 2014, 18:10.

"Any of you feel like following, or would you rather wait around until our captors decide to kill us from safely outside this cage?"
With that, Saker, jumps down the hole, using her wind-powers to slow her fall to gentle and safe drift downwards

UNAROSHI
There is a whirring sound, and presently a voice speaks, mechanical but, if given a personality, sounds very much like a typical 80s Valley girl.
"Like, state your name and business, okay?"
--------
--------
SAKER
Saker hops into the hole and descends into total darkness. She falls for quite some time, but can't quite exactly keep the track of the specific time. However, when she eventually lands, her wind powers ensure it is a less uncomfortable landing than expected.
The problem? There is no light here either.

MAXINE, SHEPARD, MIRA, GUNROD
Mira and Gunrod introduce themselves in their own fashion. "Affirmative," responds the vocoded voice.
Shepard is mid-way through the word "lightly", however, when Saker leaps into the hole. There is a mechanical roar.
"RELEASE," commands the voice.
A giant doorway forms directly inside the room, high almost as the vents, and the remaining four back away. A massive mutant mechanoid stands in the doorway, and behind it is a smaller droid. In some universes the smaller droid would resemble a stock T-900 with blue accents. However, that figure, and pretty much everything around them all if not for Mira, is only made real visible by the towering figure in front of that droid. Though completely mechanical, the bigger figure looks like a praying mantis with a head shaped like a hammerhead shark. It appears quite beefy for such an insectile form, and its metal coat shines; great pods containing vivid orange light arc across its limbs, neck, and head. Its red eye lights search the party, who appear unnerved, and then scans over the hole. The figure doesn't go to the hole, but its eyes continue to tilt downwards until they almost disappear inside their sockets. Then they eye the party again; its forelegs raise and rub together, while its four other limbs, lined with several large spikes, stay grounded.
"You stand before Avarice," the figure drones in its vocoded voice. "Know that I am the personal judge of all sentient beings who arrive on this planet without reason.
"You may wonder that your untimely arrival is not to your liking. Your distaste will be settled by the fact that whomever arrives on this planet is sent to various places inside of our base of operations, and it has always been this way. You may call it 'breaking and entering'. We call it unwelcome meddling. Therefore we must take such strict measures. It is not we that decides who gets sent where, so be satisfied.
"The point you may be looking for is that we machines have been looking for a certain figure or figures to help proceed with our goals. You may ask what these goals are, but we shall not inform you of their specifications until much later. If you meet these goals, consider our gratitude to aid you in sending you back wherever you came from."
Avarice's glowing eyes seem to narrow.
"However, I must inquire about your ruthlessness, and about a missing organism and its departure down that shaft. We were not aware of the passage's presence. Speak."

Saker moves quickly but carefully as much as total darkness permits - moving by feeling round with each foot for a stable place to stand before moving the next - she has no desire to trip over in this abyssal place. Feeling her way with hands and feet, and at the sound of any noise stops still and uses her camoflage powers to avoid detection by anything that might be down here - she picks a direction at random and moves with it, following whatever contours of the space she can find.

Before he could even say anything, Saker vanished down the dark shaft. Shepard didn't like the present situation much either, but going down some unknown shaft didn't seem all that much better.
Of course his attention was soon drawn to what was entering their cell.Shepard stared warily at the massive synthetic in front of the group. His initial impression was that it might be some strange new form of Geth, but he quickly dismissed that notion once it began to speak.
So they weren't going to be getting much information right now. Shepard grimaced. He didn't like being so completely in the dark, in both senses of the word.
Standing in front of the group, he looked up at the face of the synthetic and tried to speak as confidently as he could.
"She apparently took to this unexpected captivity less kindly than the rest of us and took the first likely path of escape without really talking to the rest of us much. I'm not so sure I'd trust a dark hole leading to somewhere unknown when I didn't even know where I was starting from but there you are."
"As it is, I think as long as your intentions are reasonable, we can come to some kind of agreement here."Last edited by NWOWWE; 23 July 2014, 12:44.

"I can't say I remember how I got here," Mira began, the odd glinting from the giant mechanical insect allowing them to recover, if only very slightly. "I'm not one for fighting, though," they informed the mechanoid, casting a brief sideways glance at the dwarf. At the moment, he seemed like one of the more trigger-happy members of the group, and they hoped that wouldn't draw too much trouble toward the group.
Despite the light filtering into the room through the vents, Mira still felt drained and weakened. "Is there a way I might be able to go outside?" she asked, through another less obvious flicker.

UNAROSHI
There is no immediate reply. The sounds of whatever it was that addressed him, were now fainter and fainter. Presently, quite far in the distance, what seems to be an electronic door opens. Now the sounds, two almost identical pairs of footsteps, get louder again until it sounds like there's something right outside... wherever he is.
"Welcome to Headquarters. State your identity."
This voice belonged to something different...

SAKER
The woman goes on and on and on... strangely enough, without encountering a single living organism. After a long while, the path begins to rise, and becomes steeper and steeper. It then levels out again and Saker can sense... something. It's nearby, and it's somewhere on the other side of whatever she's facing. She taps the surface, and it lets off a low gong noise as though she'd taken a mallet to it. Saker's eyes dilate for a moment as she prepares for the reprecussions for such an action.
But nothing happens. No other noises, no approaching dangers, no senses disturbed.
Saker turns back to the wall and begins to think.

MAXINE, SHEPARD, GUNROD, MIRA
Avarice's head tilts from one member of the party to the other, every half-second. Presently he draws it back and makes some clicking noises, and then addresses Shepard.
"Too bad for her. Evading mandatory interrogations is quite unforgivable..." He made some more clicking noises. The smaller machine looked right at Avarice and also made some clicking noises. It really began to get on Maxine's nerves, but Mira tried to calm her down.
Avarice addresses Shepard again. "Our intentions must be kept, ah... confined. You see, though we are an exponentially vast species, there are many defectors and sleepers in our empire, wishing to gain information and use it to our destruction. They must be - " Avarice swipes his claws together violently. "Crushed."
Shepard gulped.
"But you can rest assured that we mean the very best for this world, and that is an absolute honest truth. That IS what you are seeking, is it not?"
"Um..." began Mira.
The mantis mechanoid spies Mira next. "I see, you're one of those beings, aren't you. An Illuxion, yes..."
"How do you know what I am?"
"Quite simply that one of the previous beings that entered through this world was one, and it confessed itself and its powers. In the end though, it was quite uncooperative after a while and left us," growled the machine. "We have no reckoning of where it may be in the universe, but provided you are of the same race, we would ask you to play a better team member role than it.
"As for light... thanks to that other Illuxion's temporary cooperation, we were able to harness some of its power for ourselves. You see, the star known as what the humans called the 'Sun' does not give light to the planet's surface anymore. But there is another way. If you will come with us, we can restore you, and quite easily.
"What do you all say? Speak. If you are enemies... I for one will not hesitate to eliminate you here and now."
