      Round 2

In round 1, She Loves You and Twist of Fate crashed out to leave 4 robots left in the heat, so which 2 will be going forward to the final?

      Fight 1
      Dantomkia (30) vs. Whirligig 4.0

      3
      2
      1
      ACTIVE

Steve at once flicks Whirligig 4.0 into life, getting the spinner up to speed before Richard can drive Dantomkia into it. Whirligig 4.0 has started to walk away from the square, as Dantomkia slams into the spinning shell itself to get a flip in. Dantomkia is sent spinning away, as Whirligig 4.0€™s feet place a lovely scar in the floor, but it survives the impact and spins it€™s shell back up to speed before moving onwards.

Dantomkia turns on it€™s wheels and drives straight towards Whirligig 4.0 once more. Steve prepares himself and turns off the motor to the shell, as Dantomkia gets underneath, but the shell hits the front pointy spikes and spins Dantomkia away on it€™s wheels, as the rear foot has gone up. Steve runs for it, taking Whirligig 4.0 with him, as Dantomkia starts to chase after the spinner. Another impact, as Dantomkia pushes Whirligig 4.0 towards the arena spike, but the legs on Whirligig 4.0 hold it down, as Dantomkia gets underneath and for the first time, the flipper fires sending Whirligig 4.0 over.

Richard changes direction, and drives the machine of Michael into Whirligig 4.0, and pushes it towards the arena wall. Steve turns on the power and runs away from Dantomkia€™s flipper, as Whirligig 4.0 spins it€™s spinner up to speed and moves onto the offensive and not the defensive, and walks towards Dantomkia€™s side, but Richard turns to defend the attack, and because Whirligig 4.0 is a walker he can€™t turn to counter the turn by Dantomkia and hits the front Hardox, spinning both robots away.

Dantomkia turns away from the wall and heads towards Whirligig 4.0, as Steve spins the spinner up once more, wishing to attack the main body of Dantomkia, but Richard looks like to be in control, as he drives head first into Whirligig 4.0 once more, the front risen up, as the spinner stalls, Whirligig 4.0 is flipped over, but one of the front spikes on Dantomkia has been removed, could that count in the judge€™s decision?

Whirligig 4.0 comes back onto the offensive and walks towards the pit release, ripping it off the wall. Steve what has the arena ever done to you? Dantomkia comes across the arena, and once more uses it€™s tactic of driving into Whirligig 4.0 with the front end up and does so, but this time takes a lot of the damage, as Whirligig 4.0 moves away, before coming in with another attack onto Dantomkia and manages to hit the sides. Richard knows it€™s too late to make a comeback, as Dantomkia is moving around in circles, the left hand side wheel has done, but it comes back.

Dantomkia takes Whirligig 4.0 by surprised and flips it up, coming close to the arena fence, only a few inches away from being the 2nd robot thrown out of the ring. Whirligig 4.0 comes back down to earth with a bump and turns on it€™s legs to face Dantomkia, as both robots head towards each other, Steve isn€™t spinning his shell back up to speed, has it broken? These questions are going through the heads of the 3 judges at this present moment in time. Dantomkia makes one last attack, but Whirligig 4.0 gets Dantomkia broad-side once more and starts to push it.

      Cease

Both robots are still moving at the end, as the judges are asking Steve to show them that the shell is still spinning. He does and it is spinning. The judges walk off into the distance to make their decision.

      Dantomkia (30)
      Aggression - (9/15)
      Control - (8/15)
      Damage Caused - (5/15)
      Strategy - (7/15)
      Style - (9/15)

      Total - (36/75)

      Whirligig 4.0
      Aggression - (6/15)
      Control - (7/15)
      Damage Caused - (10/15)
      Strategy - (8/15)
      Style - (6/15)

      Total - (37/75)

In a 37-36, Dantomkia has been silenced. Whirligig 4.0 moves onto the heat final, but in a close fight.

      Fight 2

Bulldog Breed (3) vs. Tanto 3

By using the interchangeable weapons rule, Tanto 3 still has the Ming style wedge.

      3
      2
      1
      ACTIVE

The world€™s fastest start from Tanto 3 as it eats up the surface on it€™s way out. Bulldog Breed has started to move, trying to catch up with the speeding bullet of Tanto 3, which has already pressed the pit release button, just replaced after Whirligig 4.0 removed it during the last fight. The force once more rips off the button, as the arena repairmen grumble.

Meanwhile, Bulldog Breed is catching up with Tanto 3, but Matt turns on the spot and puts down full power onto the surface as the onboard traction control and speed controllers control the raw power into motion, as Tanto 3 slams into Bulldog Breed and slams the 3rd seed straight into the arena hammer. The hammer fires, as the flipper fires sending Tanto 3 over, as the hammer bounces back, as co2 comes away from the pipes as once more the unreliable hammer breaks down.

Tanto 3 gets underneath the sides of Bulldog Breed and before Matt M can move, Tanto 3 is pushing Bulldog Breed towards the pit at max speed. Could this be the first shock of the war, as the un-seeded Tanto beating last season€™s 4th placed robot? Matt is trying to get away, as the other Matt is looking at the place in the heat final, as Bulldog Breed flips to get away, but the front wedge has risen on Tanto 3, lifting the left hand side wheels off the ground.

The pit yawns for food, as Tanto 3 drops of Bulldog Breed down into the pit, as smoke starts to rise, Tanto 3 spins on the spot.

      Cease

The 3rd seed is out, as Bulldog Breed couldn€™t get a hit in, and gets pitted. Who needs a weapon, when you have the power and control? Tanto 3 moves onto the heat final.

        Whirligig 4.0 vs. Tanto 3

Will be a good fight, but I think Whirly just has the power to take Tanto out.

          Box Front, no wedge.

Hit it hard with the solid block, stop the weapon and then ram.

          Fights full of woot, Dave.

              Heat Final

              Tanto 3 vs. Whirligig 4.0

              How did they get here?
Tanto 3 pitted Twist of Fate in round 1, before pitting the 3rd seed, Bulldog Breed last time.
Whirligig 4.0 hit She Loves You, but it was really Bulldog Breed doing the work, before almost unstuck against Dantomkia, which it won a 38:37 decision.

Matt has decided to go no wedge today for maximum effect.

              3
              2
              1
              ACTIVE!

For the third time this heat, Tanto 3 rushes off the line, carefully pulling away to get the wheels moving before putting the entire 40 horsepower onto the wheels. Whirligig 4.0 meanwhile is moving, to get it€™s shell up to speed before Tanto 3 rams into it. Steve is running away as fast as his legs will carry Whirligig 4.0. This isn€™t fast enough, as Tanto 3 snowploughs straight into Whirligig 4.0 and pushing Whirligig 4.0 straight onto the arena wall.

The shock can be felt in the control pods as the arena wall takes the energy. Tanto 3 reverses, and rams into Whirligig 4.0 once more before Steve can move the spinner away. Is Whirligig 4.0 moving? Tanto 3 is pushing the spinner towards it€™s weapon, the pit. Matt hits his head, forgetting about opening the pit, but he puts on full power and slams Whirligig 4.0 into the arena wall with some force.

Tanto 3 is trying to get Whirligig 4.0 out of the arena, and reverses for another shot. Steve is trying everything to get Whirligig 4.0 to move, but it seems the initial blast against the arena wall has knocked itself out, as Tanto 3 comes in at full speed, hitting into Whirligig 4.0 and sending it over the fence and onto the camera tracks.

              Cease

Who needs the pit? Whirligig 4.0 shown the fence in a repeat attack of last year. Tanto 3 shocks everybody and claims the first semi final place.

              Next Time:

              Heat B
The Deer (29) vs. Kick in the Teeth vs. Darth Dread
Tsunami 2 (4) vs. Scottishly Fictional vs. Beast Boy 3

Tactics, Predictions, did you like heat A?

Tsunami is evil! Zey fleepped Dom over ze fensh, and zey hev two remsh.

I want to push Tsunami around, maybe ram it out the arena, chew up its tyres, and dump it in the pit, then say, That ones for Dom, ya German anal retentives!

But then again, I also want an electric guitar and a big breasted anorexic supermodel on my arm, so we cant have everything we want.

Dunno what Kick in the Teeth is like but if this is the linear actuated axe Darth Dread, its going out.

Tsunami 2 (4) vs. Scottishly Fictional vs. Beast Boy 3

Scottishly Fictional is through, not sure about the other two.

I predict a team up on The Deer, but the seed to go through anyway.

Tsunami 2 (4) vs. Scottishly Fictional vs. Beast Boy 3

Beast Boy to be thrown over the fence. Scott, you may want to get Tsunami back for Dom, but think what would have happened to his machine if hed gone through to face X-Terminator? Also, your choice in girl sucks :P

Can I make a point. If you recount the scores for the DTK Whirliggi match, the score was actually 38-37 to DTK.

Count it if you dont believe me.
