  • Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!

Well... I have a feeling that this could already be fixed to give Steve his much wanted VFT title:P Not that Im complaining if it is, but its still a bit of a bummer even if he does deserve it...

    OK, tactics...

Stay in the centre of the arena, both machines will struggle to get underneath the other, so it should be a battle of traction, where I think i have the advantage. The only reason I will go to the edge is if Im pushed there or if I get ihm over and wnat to release the pits. Flipping wise, Im not worried about running out of gas, so I shall just keep tossing him over. If I cant get him near the pit, then I will jsut keep flipping him until he eihter breaks or until he is in a posiiton to be pushed into the pit. If we go over, we shall charge at them with the back facing and fire our flipper as we approach to land on top of them and act almost as a full body hammer. We can stand up to them so itll be interesting to see if he can.`

Good luck Steve but I dont think yuoll be needing it.

I assure you, Matty, this is not fixed. I write the fights by ear and see where they go. Thats not to say Steven wont win, but then again, he might have to wait till VFT7.

        2Blue
        Ankle Biter The Second

In Heat A, first seed The Disc 4 used its weapon to whack Infusion into the pit, after Biohazard had sent Panic 3 GTI 2 the same way, while 17th seed Psyclone pulverised Pulveriser and Squish clawed and pitted Voltronic!
Squish then almost pitted The Disc 4, but the VFT5 champ escaped and sent Squish in instead, while Psyclone just went smash, smash, smash against Biohazard and eventually knocked it out!
The spinners of The Disc 4 and Psyclone met in the heat final - in the frequent collisions, Psyclone did more damage and The Disc 4 was sent skimming around, so the 36-24 decision went in the underdog Psyclones favour, and the champ would not defend its title!

In Heat B, third seed Manic Monsoon got its arm taken out by Powerpoint Reaches Pressurepoint, who proceeded to immobilise Slammer IV after the latter had pitted Cholera, and 19th seed Whirligig 4.0 badly battered Battle Rat, as Growling Storm 2.5 avoided going down the pit itself to pit National Speed Limit Applies, then sent Battle Rat the same way!
Manic Monsoon proved just that in Round 2 when it rammed Growling Storm 2.5 here, there, everywhere and down the pit, while Whirligig 4.0 was too low for Powerpoint Reaches Pressurepoints blade, and repeated hits left PRP immobilised!
In the heat final, some hard impacts against Whirligig 4.0 left Manic Monsoon getting spun all over the place, until Manic Monsoon slowed Whirligig down enough to get under and escort it to the pit!

In Heat C, fifth seed Tempest Evil-er-ution quickly painfully polished off Bender, and had help from the axing of Hacked Off Ha-ka to fatally damage MOE, while 21st seed Warhead dished out the damage with its dome, but it was Not Another Pushover 2 who eliminated 2Blue and Iron Awe 3 by pitting them!
Not Another Pushover 2 couldnt pit Tempest Evil-er-ution and was well battered, but was aggressive enough to make it a close 33-27 decision that saw Tempest go through, while Warhead and Hacked Off Ha-ka used their weaponry mercilessly to slash and pin each other, until Ha-ka got a good axe pin on Warhead and dropped it in the pit!
The heat final was a violent affair with Tempest Evil-er-ution causing more damage to Hacked Off Ha-ka, who in turn tried bouncing it against the wall and axing it! It went to the judges, who made it a 30-30 draw, but the audience voted Tempest Evil-er-ution to enter the semis!

In Heat D, seventh seed Windiest Killer Just Got Windier joined Cuffy and Orka Mk3 in teaming up on Pink Panther, pressuring it and pitting it, before Orka Mk3 took advantage of Cuffys close proximity to the pit and sent it the same way, and 23rd seed Disco 5 disabled Bulldog Breeds flipper and flipped it on its head, then it and Starstorm 2 eliminated Killer B on a 29-17-14 decision by causing more damage and style!
WKJGW failed to escape a few flips from Starstorm 2, but spent much of the fight shoving its opponent around before pitting it, while Disco 5 and Orka Mk3 had a very even struggle until Orka Mk3 flipped Disco 5, and Disco 5s selfright allowed Orka Mk3 to catch it on the scoop and send it to the pit!
In the heat final came a surprise result, when Windiest Killer Just Got Windier battered Orka Mk3 to start off with, but then Orka Mk3 took over, flipping WKJGW and inverting its wedge, then catching it in the side and pitting it, to become the first unseeded semifinalist in VFT6!

In Heat E, ninth seed SOR 4.0 quickly stopped Rippoff Yet Agains spinning using the wall and pitted it, and after some struggling, Juggerbee 3.0 sent Back On The Chain Gang the same way, while 25th seed Achilles lifted and overturned the srimechless Hefty Kick In The Balls, and used the arena disc and damage caused by Surgeon General to incapacitate Chip!
SOR 4.0 took some scratches from Surgeon General but used its own disc to eliminate SGs wheels and leave it unable to move, while Achilless skirts prevented Juggerbee 3.0 from getting under, and once the 25th seed had hold of the faster robot, it dropped it in the pit!
In the heat final, Achilles dominated SOR 4.0, lifting it and using the arena disc against it, before finishing the fight with a pitting - the former champ had missed out again, but theres always VFT7!

In Heat F, 11th seed Flipping Mad TU was almost pitted by Tsunami 2, but after Wedga Revo flipped the real robot against the wall, Flipping Mad TU got revenge by using the pit itself - however, it still lost the 21-20-19 JD to Wedga Revo and Stinger for not being dominant or damaging enough! 27th seed Wedge Devolution quickly got rid of Happy Birthday Party Pooper by flipping it around to slow its spinner and pitting it, then sent Blizzard soaring into the pit, sending Wedge and Glasgow Kiss through!
Wedge Devolution and Wedga Revo were evenly matched, but being a little faster, Wedge Devo got in more flips and arena disc attacks before flipping Wedga Revo pitwards, while Glasgow Kiss quickly eliminated Stinger using the pit as well, pinning the axlebot with its axe!
The two Scottish bots met in the heat final, where Glasgow Kisss attempts to grapple Wedge Devolution were thwarted by the flipper - a few flips and arena disc strikes later, Glasgow Kiss had been pushed into the pit, with Wedge Devo accidentally following it in a second later, but still going through!

In Heat G, 13th seed Scottishly Fictional put on a good shoving show but was eventually pitted by Baldur, who did the same to Srimech Not Included and went through with Overkill, while 29th seed Wheely Pure Evil 2 participated in one of VFT6s most violent melees with Deep Impact 2, Revenge of the Revenge of the Bludgeonator and Seggy the Third! All four robots survived to the end, but the badly damaged Deep Impact 2 and Wheely Pure Evil 2 were eliminated by the 17-16-16-11 decision, letting ROTROTB and Seggy go through!
Seggy The Third used its lifting arm effectively against Baldur, first plonking it against the wall which blocked its selfrighting, then escorting it to the pit, while ROTROTBs hammer was equally effective against Overkill, missing a few times but striking enough to incapacitate the American bot!
In the heat final, ROTROTBs hammer did damage to Seggy the Third, but it wasnt enough, as Seggy shoved ROTROTB around and eventually put it down the pit!

In Heat H, 15th seed The Crashing Bore used its guillotine to fatally cut up Constrictor, while Storm 2 quickly pitted In-terror-fied, while 31st seed Razer failed to hold on to Tough As Nails, who pitted Mortis but was then attacked by Razer, and both robots were pitted by Dantomkia! When the match was restarted, Tough As Nails successfully pitted Razer, and it and Dantomkia were through!
The Crashing Bore and Tough As Nails had some push-and-shove moments in the arena together, but The Bore also used its guillotine to smash TANs wheels and immobilise it, while Dantomkia was almost immediately pitted by Storm 2!
The Crashing Bore and Storm 2 met again in the heat final, where The Bore guillotined and drilled Storm 2, who responded by shoving it around - eventually, Storm 2 was the winner when it sent The Crashing Bore into the pit!

In Heat I, 16th seed Push-Ish used its drum to scrape Dallas while The Ultimate Wedge pitted Nightmare - Push-Ish immediately sent Dallas the same way, with Dallas being bounced up by Nightmares disc before falling! 32nd seed Leprosy Infection, Disco Dancer 2.5 and Tengu VI all pinned Dominator 2 against the wall and caused enough damage to immobilise it, then tried to tear apart each other - it went to the judges, and Leprosy Infection lost out in the 21-21-18 decision!
Push-Ishs clash with Tengu VI consisted of Push-Ish trying to ram and Tengu VI on the attack and defence, causing damage - but Push-Ish was more aggressive and able to pin Tengu a couple of times, so it won the 31-29 decision, while The Ultimate Wedge quickly eliminated Disco Dancer 2.5 by mercilessly ramming and flipping it, resisting its clamping attempts, and eventually running it down the pit!
The two pushers Push-Ish and The Ultimate Wedge came together in the heat final, where The Ultimate Wedge proved faster and more powerful, and after giving Push-Ish rather painful tours of the arena walls, it pitted it!

In Heat J, 14th seed Angel Of The Abyss found Ankle Biter The Second, BADer and Flippa Frenzay Mk6 aiming to ram each other into it - eventually, Ankle Biter immobilised Flippa Frenzay, and took out BADer as well, while 30th seed Chaos 2, after pitting Vlad The Impaler 2, was taken out by the spinner of Megabyte and the forceful nitrogen flips of Stratosfear!
Angel Of The Abyss found itself heading heavenward when Stratosfear got close enough to it - after another flip, its spinner was stopped and Stratosfear was able to pit it, while Ankle Biter The Second proved too strong for Megabyte, as the drum whacked the spinner and underbelly and quickly immobilised it!
In the heat final, Ankle Biter The Second caused some damage to Stratosfears wheels, but was also repeatedly flung into the air, eventually so many times that the shock of the impacts killed it, and Stratosfear was in the semis!

In Heat K, 12th seed Annoying Box Rush was frustrated by the bouncing Flea 2.0 and battled with Firestorm V, who pitted Mr Nasty and then sent ABR down the pit as well, while 28th seed Forcepower Turbo showed its opponents why its called that, pitting The Raven and then El Persistance, but not before Disconstructor left some scarring on them!
Flea 2.0 used its jumping ability to great effect as Forcepower Turbo tried to ram it about, but eventually landed too close to the pit and was able to be shoved in, while Firestorm V used the arena disc to damage Disconstructor, taking some damage itself, before getting bored and pitting it!
Forcepower Turbo and Firestorm V proved evenly matched in the heat final - on one hand, Forcepower did some more impressive shoving, and on the other, Firestorm flipped Forcepower a few times and left it inverted and less effective, as well as pinned against the wall! In the end, Firestorm V won out by leaving Forcepower Turbo in the pit!

In Heat L, tenth seed NSBFR-X combined with Roo 2 to rip apart Hassocks Hog 2, before both robots pressured Forklifts Revenge enough to beat it on a 23-21-16 decision, while 26th seed Black Chalkie Beard broke the arena wall when the clusterbot twins shoved Gyrate into it - Gyrate flew into Insecticide and Sonic Boom, immobilising Insecticide and itself!
NSBFR-X had trouble catching the fast Sonic Boom, but when it did, it grappled it with a latch, introduced it to the arena disc then pitted it, while Black Chalkie Beard bounced Roo 2 against the wall to slow it down, then were able to shove it into the pit as well!
In the heat final, NSBFR-X quickly pitted Beard and spent the rest of the fight tussling rather boringly with Black, pinning it, using its spinning bar and ramming it around, and winning the 40-20 judges decision!

In Heat M, eighth seed Mass Disctruction Ultimate 3.1 made an appropriately destructive return to VFT by ripping into Dieceratops Invertus and Infernal Contraption - Dieceratops was rendered extinct, while No Close Shave 2 pitted IC! 24th seed Hypertension Mk2 teamed up with Geforce, and their combined flips on Tazbot and TIRTASM knocked both their opponents out as they hit the floor too hard, too many times!
Mass Disctruction Ultimate 3.1 got flipped a few times by Geforce, but damaged the flipper in the process until it was ineffective, and caused enough armour damage to wipe the life from Geforce, while Hypertension Mk2 played with No Close Shave 2, flipping it against the arena walls before a final flip into the pit!
The heat final brought a surprise result as Hypertension Mk2 aggressively rammed and flipped Mass Disctruction Ultimate 3.1, taking a battering in the process, but with a combination of a flip and a wall impact, slowed MDU 3.1 down and rammed it into the pit - a third VFT title for MDU 3.1 was not on the cards for now!

In Heat N, sixth seed SD IV did some of its usual slicing wheels with its low saw, as Aces & Eights used the arena disc to immobilise Supernova, and was then pitted itself by Scimiter, while 22nd seed Dervish V/ caused damage to all three of its opponents, as well as being able to stack them against the wall, until Mega Masher 2 pitted Total B*****d and then Wind Chiller!
Another of VFT6s shocks came about next as Mega Masher 2 proved fast enough to evade SD IVs saw and shove it into the pit, while Dervish V/ repeatedly rolled Scimiter over to slash into its underbelly and eventually leave it for dead!
In the heat final, Mega Masher 2 wasnt so capable of ramming when Dervish V/ kept whacking it with its spinner and flipping it, eventually causing enough damage to eliminate Mega Masher 2 from the fight and go through to the semi finals!

In Heat O, fourth seed Killotine Evo got itself pummeled by Terrorhurtz while Mother Of All Bricks 2 pitted Wrecktangle - when MOAB2 intervened, Killotine Evo used its own axe on Terrorhurtz, and dragged it to the pit! 20th seed Typhoon 2 and Ringmaster first used their powerful spinning to immobilise Ymir, then both parts of the clusterbot Well Buy You A New One Tomorrow Mrs Brown!
Killotine Evo took some hits from Ringmaster well, before slowing it down with its ramming, grappling it with the axe and pitting it, while Typhoon 2 wasnt able to cause much damage to the tough Mother Of All Bricks 2, who rammed it repeatedly and then tipped Typhoon 2 over with its skirt, leaving it helpless!
The heat final was a brief affair where Mother Of All Bricks 2 was grappled by Killotine Evos axe but proved too strong to drag, then rammed Killotine Evo in the side and showed it how a proper pitting is done!

In Heat P, second seed WX 6.0 used its scoop to run Little Sister into the pit, but not before Little Sister had flipped X Terminator, allowing WX 6.0 and VGer to qualify, and 18th seed Heir To Black Panther IV pitted Star 69 after Wedgie 5 had stopped its spinning with a flip - however, Wedgie 5 did not survive the 26-20-14 decision when The Doomsday Project continuously gave it a whacking with its disc, and went through with HTBP4!
WX 6.0 used its Hardox scoop to ram The Doomsday Projects flywheel and stall it enough to push it into the pit, while Heir To Black Panther IV used a hit and run strategy on VGer, axing, lifting and ramming it enough to win the 38-22 judges decision!
In the last heat final, WX 6.0 took some lifting and nasty axing from Heir To Black Panther IV, but also used its manouverability to ram HTBP4 in the side and give it a fatal shove to the pit, filling the last place in the VFT6 semi finals!

Moving into Semi Final 1, where a grudge match between Manic Monsoon and Achilles ended in Achilles getting rammed about and deposited in the pit, Wedge Devolution got bashed by Tempest Evil-er-ution but was able to flip it and pit it, Psyclone beat Seggy The Third on a 40-20 decision after causing much more damage, and Storm 2 rammed Orka Mk3 into the pit in a rather brief battle!
Manic Monsoon and Storm 2 then met in the arena, where they got some good rams in on each other, until Storm 2 got under Manic Monsoons rear, lifted it up and plonked it in the pit! Psyclone did a good job spinning Wedge Devolution around, but fell foul of the flipper a few times, until Wedge Devolution could get it in the pit and itself into the final four!

And in Semi Final 2, WX 6.0 and The Ultimate Wedge met in a battle filled with collisions and pins, until the more controlled WX 6.0 pitted The Ultimate Wedge, NSBFR-X avoided Stratosfears flipper and caused bad damage to its wheels before pitting it, Hypertension Mk2 got in good rams and flips towards Dervish V/ despite taking damage, and eventually shoved it in the pit as well, while Firestorm V could do nothing to Mother Of All Bricks 2, who rammed it into the walls, and eventually the pit!
NSBFR-X used its pincers against WX 6.0, successfully clamping it, using the arena disc to damage it and the pit to eliminate it! In the final semi battle, despite some successful ramming, Mother Of All Bricks 2 was flipped from under its drill by Hypertension Mk2, who eventually flipped it into the pit, and completed the grand final lineup with itself!

        So our four finalists:
        *Entered by Frank Goacher, NSBFR-X!
*Entered by Matty Fowler, HYPERTENSION MK2!
*Entered by Steven McGregor, WEDGE DEVOLUTION!
*Entered by Matt MacDonald, STORM 2!

And lets also mention the winners of our special events:
*The Annihilator was won by PSYCLONE - entered by AJ, it beat The Disc 4 and Wrecktangle in its Mayhem, then went into the Annihilator and outlasted Dieceratops Invertus, Geforce, Forklifts Revenge, Whirligig 4.0 and Push-Ish!
*The Football was won by Frank Goachers team, X & I - these specially designed footballers beat 4 Wheel Steering & Seggy the Third 4-1, WX 6.0 & Forcepower Turbo 6-1 and Dervish V/ & Revenge Of The Revenge Of The Bludgeonator 4-3!
*The first Challenge Belt is being held by NATIONAL SPEED LIMIT APPLIES - going out in Round 1 of VFT6 did not hinder Dave Sheppard when it came to beating Powerpoint Reaches Pressurepoint, Ankle Biter The Second and NSBFR-X! The second Challenge Belt is held by WEDGA REVO, who beat NSA in the final CB battle, and will hold onto its prize till next time!
*The All Stars was won by MASS DISCTRUCTION ULTIMATE 3.1 - despite losing in its VFT6 heat final, the VFT3 and VFT4 champ owned by Aaron Knight proved it is still formidable when it pummeled SD IV and Wheely Big Cheese in its opening melee, then smashed its way through Storm 2, The Disc 4 and Manic Monsoon!

And now, lets return to the present and begin the Grand Final eliminators! First, will NSBFR-X or Storm 2 be eliminated?

        3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
NSBFR-X and Storm 2 both rushed to the arena centre, where Storm 2 skidded to reach NSBFR-Xs side, causing NSBFR-X to miss it with the spinning bar as it turned! When the two robots made contact, they were parallel to each other, and struggled together in a circle, until the superior speed and manouverability of Storm 2 allowed it to turn its front into NSBFR-X and give it a nice shove, propelling it on a curved path, into the southwest corner! Storm 2 proceeded to pin the 10th seed there, struggling to get past the skirting but not quite managing it! Eventually, after a bit of slow manouvering, NSBFR-X managed to break free and turn! Storm 2 reversed to escape, but still recieved a blow from the spinning bar on the wedge, spinning it to one side and exposing that side to NSBFR-X, who slashed it with the bar! It went to strike a third hit, but Storm 2 swerved out of the way and became parallel to NSBFR-X again! They turned for a moment, then NSBFR-X suddenly broke away to try and hit, but it missed! However, as Storm 2 came round to try and get at the side again, NSBFR-X was able to hit it in the front wedge again, then glance it on the rear as it got away!
Moving to a safe distance, Storm 2 came streaming back to NSBFR-X, swerving again to avoid the spinner, and successfully running around the 10th seed and ramming it in the side - a ram which took NSBFR-X into the east wall with a bang! Unable to get it into the pit from there, Storm 2 made another failed attempt to surpass the skirts before backing off. This proved a bad move, as NSBFR-X ran, then turned to greet the advancing Storm 2, and managed to catch it along the side with the bar and knock it off course! But Storm 2 managed to escape as NSBFR-X was turning to hit it again, turned around - and got glanced by the bar on its rear as it came in, taking another glance before it could escape the 10th seed! On the next attack, Storm 2 successfully escaped NSBFR-Xs bar and the two robots were parallel again, before both of them shifted. Storm 2 ended up facing NSBFR-Xs rear, and attacked from behind, causing NSBFR-X to go face first into the west wall and bounce off thanks to its blade! It tried accelerating away, but Storm 2 caught up and rammed it in the side again, taking it back into the east wall and dangerously close to the pit release! Another pin ensued, but when Storm 2 again failed to get under, it did a reverse swerve and hit the release! NSBFR-X went to distance itself from the pit, with Storm 2 in hot pursuit! Eventually it caught up again, catching NSBFR-Xs side as it tried to turn away from it, and went for a pit shove! They came closer...and missed, hitting the wall! Storm 2 twisted away to try and get the right angle, but ended up getting a faceful of spinning bar! NSBFR-X proceeded to hit Storm 2 in the side with the bar, trying to knock it towards the pit, but it failed to do so before the pit closed.
Storm 2 ended up being thrust against the wall, taking another glancing blow to its now very scratched armour before it could get away! NSBFR-X came in head first, so Storm 2 came towards it and turned - turning quicker than NSBFR-X, it reached the side and shoved once again, until they hit the east wall once again! Storm 2 swerved off again, and as NSBFR-X turned to catch it, it exposed its side and recieved another hard ram, which took them back into the west wall, but still not hard enough for Storm 2 to get underneath! Storm 2 backed off again, and attacked again, but NSBFR-X reversed so it went bang into the wall! This was the perfect oppotunity for NSBFR-X to deepen the wounds in Storm 2s side and send it skimming off, but Storm 2 recovered before it could hit again, and ran around NSBFR-X until it could reach the side again! As they went into the wall again, NSBFR-Xs bar hit the wall and it bounced off! The two robots ran around each other again for a brief moment, but again Storm 2 reached NSBFR-Xs side, and pushed it close to the pit release again! It swerved backwards to hit the release, and as NSBFR-X ran again, it caught up and got into the side once again, then shoved again! When they reached the north wall, close to the pit, the bar again made contact with the wall and both robots flew a short distance back from it! But it wasnt enough for NSBFR-X to make its getaway, as Storm 2 hit it in the side when it tried to reverse away! They came close to the pit, and NSBFR-Xs bar hit the wall again! It skimmed back, past the edge of the pit, and immediately Storm 2 charged and sent it all the way down!
        CEASE!

STORM 2 GOES THROUGH TO THE GRAND FINAL!

Who else will be in the VFT6 Final - Hypertension Mk2 or Wedge Devolution? These two have met before in Round 2 of VFT5, where Hypertension was the victor, but who will come out of this grudge match alive?

        3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Again, both robots crunched together in the arena centre, turning to aim for each others sides! They turned in a circle just as NSBFR-X and Storm 2 had, until Hypertension Mk2 began winning, turning its prongs into Wedge Devolution and shoving against the skirts, but the prongs wouldnt go under them! With a push, Hypertension began shoving Wedge Devo towards the arena wall, but then backed off and returned to the centre! Wedge Devo came back to meet it, and found Hypertension charging and running around it, successfully reaching the side again and giving it a bump! Hypertension again failed to surpass the skirting, and shoved Wedge Devolution along in the process before going back to its strategic position in the centre! The 27th seed attacked again after its shove, and again Hypertension Mk2 began running in a circle around it! As the 24th seed approached, Wedge Devolution tried shifting with it - when Hypertension charged, Wedge reversed and Hypertension almost ran onto the flipper! It quickly shifted backwards, but Wedge ran at it, into and under the prongs and getting underneath! With Hypertension Mk2 on its wedge, Wedge rammed it towards the arena disc without flipping!
Hypertension Mk2 skimmed away from the impact of the disc, tumbling on the floor and almost landing upside down! Wedge Devolution ran underneath it before it came back down and charged it back into the arena disc, causing Hypertension to knock it backwards as it flew away again! Wedge turned as Hypertension landed behind it, and as the 24th seed charged, the two robots were parallel again! As they turned, Wedge Devo ended up against the wall, and Hypertension Mk2 shoved the prongs against it, but they still wouldnt go under the skirts! Eventually, Hypertension backed off again, returning to the centre, and Wedge Devolution followed! The two robots swerved to get under each other again, and when it became clear that Hypertension would win out again, Wedge swerved away and Hypertension ran onto the spatula! Wedge came forward as Hypertension drove off it - Wedge Devo quickly turned under Hypertension Mk2s side before it got moving again and shoved the spatula past its skirting, getting under again! With the 24th seed in its grasp again, the 27th seed now shot towards the pit release with it, turned around and ran it down the open pit, getting revenge for its VFT5 defeat!
        CEASE!

WEDGE DEVOLUTION GOES THROUGH TO THE GRAND FINAL!

        Playoff:
        NSBFR-X (10) vs Hypertension Mk2 (24)

Wedge Devo to get under Storm 2 and flip it once. Thisll invert him, and allow Stevo to drive the pusher towards to wall and flip.

Ah, I wasnt too sure of the arena since I havent bothered to read much of the beginning. Oh well, like I said one flip will be all he needs to control the fight.

I think Ill use the pinchers this time to grapple and push Hypertension into the arena disc.

Great fights Rich, and well done to both Matt and Steve

AWOOHOO! Tip-top stuff from Richie as ever and great job by the conqueror of MDU there too.

                  GRAND FINALE
                  PLAY-OFF
                  Hypertension Mk 2 (24) VS N.S.B.F.R. X (10)
Another close encounter here, but I think Mr Fowler could be walking home with the bronze medal via a pitting

                  GRAND FINALE
                  V.F.T. SEASON 6 FINAL
Storm 2 VS WEDGE DEVOLUTION (27)
                  Eep. :S
A very simple plan for the final duel - get underneath wherever I can and flip it over once to invert it. DO NOT FLIP BACK. Once upside-down, Storm will have a much harder time ramming me and the increased ground clearance will allow me to slip under n push it about with greater ease. Once the RW World Champ is flipped, waste no time with the disc and just try to get it down the Pit ASAP

Storm wouldve been my preferred opponent no matter of my previous outcome, but Im still not confident. Five failed Finals can do that to a man Keep that VFT trophy nice and shiney, Mr McD!

Erm, Im gonna go for NSBFL...I mean R-X to get the bronze here.

Grand Final - Wedge Devolution (27) vs Storm 2

I think its finally time Steves name was put on this trophy. One flip should be enough to get Storm II onto its back and from there I can see little else happening. I think Wedge Devo matches it in drive too so no problems there, and the skirts should stop Storm II getting and good attacks in too. This is a one way fight for the title, which is going to Wedge Devo in my opinion.

Oh and Steve... just remember who inspired you too devolve Wedge 3 TFU, right?

                      Storm 2s Tactics:
Avoid that flipper at all times. He cant get me OOTA anyway, so thats one side of relief. Attack from Wedge Devolutions sides and rear, pushing it around and quickly getting it down the pit the first chance I get, I should be able to get the chance to do so here.

Due to the fact that Storm 2s wedge doesnt go all the way down to the floor, I dont think it will get underneath, and so Im backing Steveo to finally steal that cup from Franky.

The grand final is not far away, but before it happens, lets give the two less lucky finalists a chance to regain some dignity. Who will get the bronze medal in the VFT6 playoff - NSBFR-X or Hypertension Mk2?

                          3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
As the robots came at each other at high speed, Hypertension Mk2 turned to go for NSBFR-Xs sides, and NSBFR-Xs pincers ended up running into Hypertensions side, where they couldnt grip! Hypertension was knocked but twisted around and became parallel to NSBFR-X! Both robots turned, but neither could gain the upper hand! Eventually, Hypertension Mk2 broke away from the waltz, and ran into NSBFR-X head on! Before the pincers could go to work, Hypertension Mk2 fired its flipper from underneath them, turning NSBFR-X over onto its back! Before NSBFR-X could run, Hypertension rammed it hard in the side, taking it into the east wall, which they bounced off, then close to, but not into the arena disc! Hypertension Mk2 backed off to give it the push, but NSBFR-X quickly went for it with its pincers! However, as Hypertension Mk2 came back in, it went under one pincer again, resulting in NSBFR-X being tossed against the wall! It quickly began sliding down however, so Hypertension pinned it there, but the skirts proved impenetrable to its prongs! After a few moments, NSBFR-X managed to escape from the pin, and turned to face Hypertension Mk2, who backed off, almost reversing into the arena disc!
NSBFR-X went for one of Hypertension Mk2s front corners, and the pincers closed on it! However, Hypertension was still able to fire its flipper, and the result was that both robots were tipped over, balancing on their sides! They remained in that position for a moment, then NSBFR-X slowly withdrew its claws and the two bots fell back to the floor! Reacting quickly, NSBFR-X ran into Hypertension Mk2s side, but the pincers couldnt grip there! It went to grip a rear corner, but Hypertension reversed! Under the pincers went a prong, up went the flipper and over went NSBFR-X! Hypertension Mk2 ran into its side, managing to come underneath before it had settled back down fully! Quickly, it ran the 10th seed in the southwest corner and fired its flipper again, attempting to prop it against the wall! NSBFR-X banged against the wall, but quickly slid down again, on top of Hypertensions body! With NSBFR-X still trapped on top of it, the 24th seed went across the arena and hit the pit release! Edging itelf close to the pit, it fired its flipper again - and tossed NSBFR-X backwards! Landing on the floor, NSBFR-X went for Hypertension Mk2 with its pincers - Hypertension tried to run, but was grabbed from behind! NSBFR-X tried to manouvre it into the open pit, but Hypertension pulled back at it! Slowly, NSBFR-X began moving over the pit...which closed before it could fall in!
Still holding onto Hypertension Mk2, NSBFR-X tried dragging it again, with little success as they moved back and forth. Eventually, it gave up and reversed across the arena towards the disc, hoping to catch Hypertension there. Hypertension Mk2 willingly followed - when it caught up, the two robots became parallel again as they tried to catch each other! As they turned, Hypertensions rear brushed the disc, and it was suddenly flung backwards, against the wall! NSBFR-X gleefully rushed in with its pincers, but it ended up running into Hypertensions side again, and failed to grip it! As it manouvred to grab the rear corner, Hypertension Mk2 swerved around to bring its flipper under the pincers again, and successfully threw the 10th seed into the disc! Hitting the disc, NSBFR-X flew back towards Hypertension Mk2, who ran under its pincers again before it could get away and tossed it over again! As NSBFR-X bounced on the floor, Hypertension ran under its rear! Not wasting time, it propelled NSBFR-X into the pit release again, and not wanting to take risks, it just edged it into the pit normally! Just as Wedge Devolution had avenged Hypertensions victory in VFT5 Round 2, Hypertension Mk2 had avenged NSBFRs victory in their VFT5 heat final!
                          CEASE!

HYPERTENSION MK2 COMES THIRD IN VFT6!

So we come to it at last. After over a year, 128 robots and 94 fights, weve found the best two robots, and theyre about to go head to head to decide which is the best of them!
First into the arena is the 27th seed, Wedge Devolution, Steven McGregors veteran flipper that has beaten Blizzard, Happy Birthday Party Pooper, Wedga Revo, Glasgow Kiss, Tempest Evil-er-ution, Psyclone and Hypertension Mk2!
Next comes real robot Storm 2, entered into this tourny by Matt MacDonald, whose tactics gave it victory over Constrictor, In-terror-fied, Dantomkia, The Crashing Bore, Orka Mk3, Manic Monsoon and NSBFR-X!
                          So lets begin!

                          3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
The buzzer sounded, and the two finalists burst into life, charging each other down! Skidding around Wedge Devolution, Storm 2 outpaced its turning! Wedge tried to manouvre to catch it on the flipper, but Storm 2 narrowly dodged and went wham into Wedge Devos side! It couldnt get under the skirting, but it could still shove Wedge Devolution, hard into the wall! A straining effort to get under failed, so Storm 2 backed off, reversing into the pit release! It came rushing at the advancing Wedge Devo - and missed it! Wedge Devo stopped and reversed, and Storm 2 came rushing to collide with the rear - but Wedge Devo turned at the last minute and Storm 2 ran by again, knocking Wedge Devolution a little! Quickly coming forwards after its manouvre, the 27th seed brought its spatula into Storm 2s side, used a push to get under, and fired the flipper! Up into the air went Storm 2, hitting the floor and tumbling over, with Wedge Devolution following it! Storm 2 landed right side up, close to the open pit - Wedge Devo went rushing in almost immediately after it landed and shoved it towards the pit! But the pit closed before they were quite there!
Standing over the closed pit, Wedge Devolution used the wall to slip under Storm 2 again before it could escape, pushed it into a clear part of the arena and flipped again, following it as it flew! This time, Storm 2 landed upside down, but as Wedge Devolution came into it, it managed to drive away before it could get fully under! The inverted Storm 2 began driving around Wedge Devo again, trying to reach the sides safely! Wedge Devo turned for a moment then suddenly went for it, but Storm 2 quickly drove off the wedge again! Twisting around, it went to attack the side, but Wedge turned its wedge into it again! Again Storm 2 drove off just in time, but it was tilted by doing so, and Wedge Devolution rushed to take advantage! Coming back down, however, Storm 2 rushed away, outpacing Wedge long enough to charge back in! As Storm 2 skidded past it to try and shove from the side, Wedge Devolution quickly turned after it, and another parallel dance ensued! Storm 2 found itself running up Wedge Devos side a little thanks to its inverted wedge, which allowed Wedge Devolution to manouvre and bring Storm 2 over the wedge! Once it had done so, it immediately ran its victim into the pit release, opening the pit again! Wedge turned, just managing to keep Storm 2 from falling off the wedge, and ran it towards the pit! They reached it, and Storm 2 dangled over the empty space before inexorably sliding down! WEDGE DEVOLUTION RUSHED TO THE CENTRE OF THE ARENA AND DID A RELATIVELY SLOW VICTORY SPIN, FIRING ITS FLIPPER, HAVING JUST MADE ITSELF THE NEW VFT CHAMPION!
                          CEASE!

In fourth place, the interchangable bot entered by Frank Goacher, NSBFR-X!
In third place, the box shaped Dantomkia entered by Matty Fowler, HYPERTENSION MK2!
In second place, just as it was second on RW7, the rammer/lifter entered by Matt MacDonald, STORM 2!
But in first place, the flipping wedge entered by Steven MacGregor, the veteran who is finally the champion of Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament, WEDGE DEVOLUTION!

So, finally, VFT6 comes to a close. But what of VFT7? Its not long now till I go to university, and Ill need time to sort myself out, but VFT7 shouldnt be that long in coming. Ive got a few ideas for it:

                          * My arenas getting a little dull, so Im thinking of modifying it a little.
                          * Im considering modifying my judges decision technique as well.
                          * I havent fully decided on this yet, but Im thinking of taking a leaf out of Frank and Stevens books and assembling my own team of House Robots (if thats alright with Frank and Steven, of course).
                          * The Special Events will be back - we need to continue the Challenge Belt, of course, and Ill be giving robots of different weight categories a chance to show what theyre made of! Havent decided on what other events there will be yet, although there probably wont be another All Stars until VFT8, if there is a VFT8.
                          * Im wondering whether or not to make people enter robots and their stats straight away. I wouldnt have to wait for some people who reserve places and then take ages providing their stats, but it might mean that some people who wanted to enter might need to get their stats together, and then miss out on a place as they all filled up. What are your opinions on this?

Another big thank you to everyone who entered - hope to see you in the next one!

How about considering a few themed matches (flippahs, discs, comedybots etc) or even an (official) House Robot rebellion?
